They are hoping in one hand and shitting in the other to see which one fills up first.  Band needs to be really careful this weekend.

They have had 13 years for the burnt Orange daddy feeling to wear off, so they are starting to get a little optimistic.  They are in for the dick slap of a lifetime once the game starts.

SIAP...aggy will be honoring their baseball team [for what exactly?] at the football game, and they think it's some amazingly clever troll job:

I remember when Rice pulled the same stunt, honoring their NC baseball team when we were in town to play them in football.

It's what lesser schools do.

And, as far as no players following Elko from Duke, he made a money move and he liked those kids at Duke. He didn't want to subject any of them to the Collie Station weirdness.

Two things:

1) How the hell is this some kind of elaborate troll job? They're acknowledging the baseball team. And do they not realize their all aggy baseball coach left them ASAP for the team thery're trolling?

2) LOL "With a three-year runway building up to this rivalry matchup, Texas has done every single thing they can to claw their way out of A&M's shadow—and not just on the football field."

This is some 1960's Pravda level of reporting.

Honoring the First losers...classic aggy.

And Texas football players probably don't have a fucking clue they're even trying to clown Texas...that's the funniest part.

They just can't help themselves from making more and more excuses.

They're fucking right this was a weak SEC year, and guess what? It don't fucking matter if Texas wins because guess who it says is the Conference Champion no matter what? Whoever wins it.  There are no fucking asterisks saying "Yeah BUT in a down year"

Also if Texas has "only faced Georgia" then why is it we keep beating teams other top SEC teams can't?  Like Florida, Kentucky, Vandy, and OU.

Did that weird little fella release his SEC rankings yet?

I'm sure we can't wait to see Texas STILL 8th while he excuses everything everyone else did.

Or MAYBE he'll move us to 6th, still behind aggy of course, because "run efficiency was still lower than it should have been as Kentucky's great Dline had an Off Day"

If this is not the real SECX3, and the easiest SECX3 in years, why hasn’t TAMU waltzed through it?

That's a good point...i mean, we're not talking south divisions though.   Advantage aggy.

Well they moved senior day to the UMass game because it is a distraction they can't handle before mean evil tu. However the 2024 AGS did tie the number of wins in Omaha they had amassed in their entire programs history prior so this is not a distraction but a celebration #whoop(s)

Name a more consequential accomplishment they've had in a big 3 sport in the last 20 years.  It's pathetic, but it's really all they have.

Hell, they gave Jimbo a fucking national championship plaque for...existing?

When you have nothing real to celebrate but a terribly inflated sense of self worth, you find bullshit to celebrate.

It's almost like they added conference championships to their wall in years where they didn't even play in the conference championship game.

Unlike most upper Midwesterners, our Catholic friend here understands aggy.

Born and raised in TX and went to undergrad in state before grad school at ND.

I can't stand them and am very glad I've only ever met one in the wild here and thank God, 2%er

One of my best students and runners was recruited by aggy.  I talked him out of it and now he's going to land at either ND, Purdue, or Kentucky or maybe Miami OH.

BV Note: On one hand, I kind of sympathize with Graham, because Kanell is literally one of the stupidest people in sports media.

On the other hand: 0fc72b6b2085ba95628075928588d9314d95bbe4

Quote

Danny Kanell says SEC teams are "terrified" of going north for CFP games, but he's ignoring that Texas A&M football is built for it

Danny Kanell is once again taking needless shots at SEC teams. In other news, water is wet.

The former Florida State quarterback has made something of a reputation for himself from being a hater of all things SEC. This more often than not is a fruitless exercise, as numbers and on-field results prove that the Southeastern Conference is the deepest and most prestigious conference in the land.

Even so, he continues to try to find ways to get under the skin of SEC fans. His most recent tactic is proclaiming with the usual bluster that teams from the conference footprint are "terrified" of traveling north to face off with a Big 10 team in a CFP matchup.

This pretty much has to do with the cold weather in the northern part of the country. Since SEC teams obviously play down south where it's unbearably hot for most of the year, and most of the players are from that area of the country anyway, Kanell's logic is that they would be forced to play in an environment to which they are extremely unaccustomed, and therefore the home team would have an advantage.

First of all, you don't really see many Big 10 teams playing night games at this time of year anyway, so it's not like this would be a huge advantage for a team used to playing in the bitter cold—that's simply not what would be happening.

Second of all, if the Aggies are one of the teams to make the CFP (as they still have a shot to do), then they are straight-up exempt from this criticism. It would make more sense to levy against a pass-heavy team, but this is an Aggie squad that has made its name in the run game. Their ground-and-pound style, if anything, would benefit from these conditions.

In fairness, it is the first time they have been in a position to see the winner cross the finish line up close. Normally they have to buy tickets from scalpers. They defeated Ticketmaster.

Texas Longhorns kicker Justin Tucker (19) celebrates the Texas victory on his field goal...

It was in 1995 when we won the last SWC.  I’ll see if can find the pictures of the corp turds attacking the UT fans.  I have a picture of my mind of a corp idiot punching a UT fan in the back of the neck.

Stupid sip, don’t you know that bringing out the national runner ups in baseball and the coach that signed with Texas then reneged to stay at A&M makes Kyle field more intimidating?

I'm pretty sure us snapping their 31 game home winning streak set the tempers off.  By 2011 they were 13 years removed from being relevant and were used to losing at the guano tacklebox.

Point being, it happened.  Now imagine Texas beating aggy at Kyle field, in Texas’s first year in the SEC to clinch a spot in the conference championship game denying aggy from making it.  That adds a little bit of relevance to the game.  Now throw out a bunch of sip fans to rush the field surrounded by fake army.  I’ll sit by and see what happens.

To your point though, they argued after the fact that the sip fans were rushing on to their sacred, memorial field.  Take it for what it’s worth.

Yeah and then they had to walk it back and clarify it's the sacred grass outside the student center dedicated to all the fallen aggy right?  I mean how could we play a football game on the field if the grass was sacred?   It really was fucking stupid.

Yeah some of our fans ran onto the sacred grass after we won, so the fake army had to rush to its defense.

Also broke their...some number of games long home winning streak. We would break a similar one that Nebraska had a few years later.

And what few people remember is that they were a pre-season favorite to play for the national title in 1995. They had been struggling with trying to get respect as a national power all through the early 1990s, and kept screwing it up by losing the Cotton Bowl. So 1995 was going to be the year! The year of glory! Finally!

But then they lost to Colorado early on. Doh!
