Reminds me of

I thought Calzada was a tight end for the cock gobblers?

Naw he was the one backup QB that they fucking hated.... Until he beat Alabama but by then the rift between him and the fans was too much and he peaced out to Auburn.

He came in for Haynes King who broke his leg super early in the 2021 season.

Zack Calzada was the backup who became a starter who was going to win the Heisman. Then he transferred.

Haynes King was the starter who was going to win a Heisman until he became a backup who was going to win a Heisman until he got hurt and became a backup who was going to win a Heisman when he became the starter again. Then he transferred.

Connor Weigman was the starter who was going to win a Heisman until he got hurt and became a backup who was going to win a Heisman when he became the starter again until he sucked and got benched  now he’s transferring.

Stop me if you’ve heard this…

Marcel Reed was the backup who became a starter who was going to win the Heisman until Weigman got better then he became the backup again until Weigman sucked and he became the starter again and is going to win the Heisman.

I think CW was tagged with winning multiple Heismans

Better summation than mine and funnier. Love the “backup who was going to win the Heisman when he became starter agin.” Haha.

It sounds like aggy(s) do a lot of backing up.

Y’all are missing the point. All of those guys are better than any QB on the sip roster, especially the flameout Quinn and “2* with any other name Manning.”

For being a 2*, a whole lot of them sure were asking they needed to offer him a ton of money to flip to Aggy just this month, haha.

So, either you are gonna win the Heisman, or you are a POS as the aggy QB!  The 12th man hard at work.!

God bless whomever came up with this shit.  Those fuckers are going to lose their minds when they find out it was all just a troll job

No fucking way. Has to be a troll - has to be

I don’t look at Texags often. Usually only when looking for Aggie tears. But in my time there, I’ve never seen any reference to Graham’s drivel. Do they actually pay attention, or is he writing only for Surly?

SIAP - I scrolled back a few pages and searched and didn't see this.  Crazy story if true.

aggy grad says he accidentally ended up in the corps, and then the band, and somehow faked his way through four years without ever actually playing an instrument.

https://www.lonestarlive.com/life/2024/12/texas-am-alumnus-accidentally-joins-band-says-they-pretended-to-play-for-4-years.html

Aggie buddy's freshly-indoctrinated Aggie son talked about this "march so complex that it shouldn't even be possible" stuff. I commented that if their engineers were stumped by it then it doesn't say a lot for their engineers and that I'm sure I could find some people in Austin to explain it to them fairly easily.. They were unamused. (And everyone in the Wendy's drive-thru clapped.)

I've seen the Fightin' Aggie Band quite a few times and it's a cool show they do, but it gets very tiring to deal with Aggies wanting to make their "good enoughs" into "the greatest evers".

'84 - my first aggy game - @ memorial - the sight of the cosplay display marching in lines back and forth while hundreds of instamatic light bulbs flashed every second (yes - that was still the operative technology for personal cameras in 1984)

my estimate at the time was 5000 pictures taken with zero discernible difference between any given 2 pics when they were developed

This is the corps I marched in (although not this particular year).  Tell me the Fightin' Texum Aggie Band could do this.

Cav's, huh?

Went Phantom myself.

Nice! Who knew we had some DCI alums here.  Cavs 91 and Phantom 93 are two of my all-time favorite old-school shows.  I really wanted to do DCI (even switched to baritone from trombone in band for a year to get used to it), but couldn't swing it financially - it was either spend a few grand I didn't have to go do that, or earn a few grand I really needed working all summer.  Kinda regret not doing it.
