We have won 9 or more games in the regular season 19 times in our history. 14.6% of our seasons have resulted in 9 or more wins in the regular season.

Yes, 9-3 would be a very good year for Texas A&M. Where SHOULD we be? I don't know. But we're not a program that has ever routinely won 9 games, even prior to being in such a tough league as the SEC.

this is from aggy board. It’s about as sane a post as any aggy I’ve ever seen. If they ever realize this and accept it, they’ll be headed in the right direction. But they won’t. This dude needs to watch his back.

Meanwhile, we have done it 42 times in 123 years. 34.1%

I know this is the football board, but I am fascinated to see how an assistant baseball coach handles sec baseball having no experience as a head coach. Batting coach for most of his really, really short career. But he has an all star team that can bail him out at times I guess. Until June.

Crazy ex can't get over the fact he left a program that has never done anything to a blue blood that has been his dream job.

But sure, they've "upgraded" with a former GA just two years ago, and Schloss has been cleaning up in recruiting. But they're fine. No stalking from them. At all. Such a sad bunch of losers who will slither back to their mean where they belong.

Heard their new coach being interviewed this weekend on a Sirius channel. He seemed full of himself. Perfect for aggy.

Asked about continuing on from last year's team, said something like "well, I was a big part of that."

Something that I still to this day have never had.  And I had a lease in Graham for nearly 20 years. New Allsups on I-30 between Mt Vernon and Miller's Cove so I may need to check this out.

Allsup's is a NM chain.  I've been going to Allsups since I was kneehigh to a chapulín.

They are some of the nastiest establishments on the planet.  When you open the door, you're assaulted by the rank smell wave of rancid grease and body odor.  Each step needs to be taken carefully because the perpetual grease film on the tile floor, that is occasionally stirred around with the same mop water that gets regularly changed once a year.  God help you if you use the bathroom.  And the food?  It's a good way to harden your digestive tract so you're immune to botulism, ecoli, listeria, and hepatitis.

When you walk out, you notice that the stench has stuck to your clothes, your hair, your nose hair, your eye membranes, your mouth tissue, and any other organ or orifice you exposed to the miasma inside.  It will stick to your car, your pet, anything that you come within 5 feet of for the next 24 hours.  You should just burn your clothes immediately.  Your car may never be the same.

I knew someone who worked at the home office years ago. He said that Mr & Mrs Allsup would sit by their computers at the end of every reporting period waiting to see how much money they made. As soon as the numbers came in they split it up and start spending it on land, horses or anything else that struck their fancy. At that time, none of it was going back into the stores. Now they're part of the Yes Way chain, who is still not putting any money into any of the rural, small town stores. They are still exactly as you describe them.

I asked the lady at the Allsup's on the north end of Graham, one time, if she would sell me a case of burritos. She said "yes". I asked her how much? It was basically the full retail price, plus, I would have to cook them, and they didn't even come with the "burrito sleeve".

The guy that owns Yes Way lives in Graham, I met him and leased his place for oil and gas. From what I remember, he didn't have a lot of stores and wasn't overly wealthy back in 2014. But he did build us a nice new Allsup's that has been open about six months outside our west gate. I can get a burrito in about 10 minutes anytime I want. All of the new stores are spotless, ours, the two new ones in Mineral Wells, so he has that going for him, which is nice.

A couple more silly things about the Aggie class rings...

https://www.aggienetwork.com/traditionsthroughtime/strengthaggiering/

  • purchase rate of class rings is 94% of eligible students (wow!)
  • around 15k students per year
  • largest college ring account (no kidding?)
  • Aggie ring account is 3x the #2 account at Balfour
    • Aggie: 15k rings
    • Clemson: 4500
    • Texas: 2500

So far as traditions go, this one is low on the weirdness scale for aTm.  I do suspect there is a shitload of peer pressure, though.

Just think how many America’s Finest chocolate bars these goobs could be peer pressuring each other into buying.

Those would literally kill me.  Tofu?  In a bean and cheese burrito?  WTF is wrong with you people?

Seriously, grab some tofu at the store. It’s $5. Cube and cook it on a pan with Pam until browned. Throw it in a tortilla with some cheese and hot sauce. Tits.

Story time: last night at the restaurant I work at we had the aggy tennis team come in. They're here for an indoor tournament over at SMU. Anyways, their coach pays for all the food and selected to have gratuity included. I show him the bill and tell him gratuity has been added on. Then he says, "well do I have to sign it? Where's the signature line?" And I tell him, 'Well yes you sign it, but I have to run your card first and cash you out...." Oh aggy... never stop being you!
