The aggy corps has nothing to do with the ROTC programs hosted on the aggy campus. The ROTC program on the aggy campus is funded by the federal government. The corps is funded by the state government. By law, states do not pay for training of federal troops. The aggy corps is an entirely civilian fraternity wearing contrived fake military costumes. The aggy corps is not subject to the UCMJ. Every individual serving in the military is subject to the UCMJ. The aggy claim that serving in the aggy fake army fraternity is in any way related to honorable military service is yet another example of aggy fraudulent military fairy tales.

But, but, but General George Patton and all that Jazz ... WHOOOP!!!

Not disputing any of that.  Now go find me one ROTC student at aggy who is not also corps.

Your original point was that one cannot be ROTC at A&M and not also be in the fake army fraternity. And now you say you aren’t disputing that one can be in ROTC at aggy and not be in the fake army fraternity. Do you want to rethink what you are trying to say and get back with us? The reality is that the aggy fraternity that wears fake military costumes has nothing to do with the ROTC program hosted on the A&M campus. One can be in the fake military fraternity without being in the ROTC program, and one can be in the ROTC program without being in the fake military fraternity. One is state, the other is federal.

Stating one can't be in the aggy corps without being in ROTC is one and the same as stating one can't be a Tri-Delt or a Lambda-Chi without being in ROTC.

The aggy corps is one and the same as the Tri-Delts or the Lambda-Chi.

Well, not really. Tri-Delt and Lambda-Chi carry more respect, but you get where I was going.

I’m not disputing your point that the organizations are distinct.  My point is that culturally and traditionally, ROTC cadets/midshipmen become part of the corps without exception.

You mention "part of."

The aggy corps members are no more "part of" the A&M ROTC program than are Tri-Delts or members of Lambda-Chi.

The aggy corps, Tri Delts, and Lambda Chi are all civilian fraternities whose membership is in no way contingent on involvement in ROTC which itself is open to any student on campus. All are completely voluntary organizations that are in no way connected with each other. No Tri-Delt is required to join ROTC, just as no member of ROTC is required to be a Tri-Delt.

Any student on the A&M campus is free to participate in ROTC training and to tell the aggy corps hierarchy to "fuck off."

Soo... Is it a requirement for these people to put their graduation year (assuming it's that) in the signature line of their emails?  Not only is it annoying, but it's confusing and dumb.

When you're the first person in your family to make it through HS much less college, it's a bfd.

Not enjoying a product or visiting a place of business because it’s owned by [insert school name] is about as Aggy as it gets. Grow up

Michigan going to lose in the next 2 weeks,

along with OU, and UGA in SECCG

aggy going to "let LSU win" again for the good of the conference.   It's a likely outcome and just watch aggy cuck around about how Baggins is playing 4D chess, taking a loss because he understands how it helps set up 2 SEC teams being the norm for the playoffs.  Their absolute love of their conference above their own team is fucking weird.

Go Horns! Everyone else can fuck off.

RD,

I support most of what you say, but what you are writing here is wrong. If you are ROTC at Aggy, you have to be in the Corp because all of the ROTC programs are rolled into the corps.

Now unlike most ROT’C’s where you have to commit after softmore year the Aggy corps lets people continue in the corps who make no commitment to going to future active duty military.  So people can play dress up like you say and be in the CORP fraternity with no future military ties.  With standard ROTC this is not the case.  But to be ROTC at Aggy, there is no separate way to do ROTC without being in the Corps.

Wrong. Everything connected with TAMU is a state construct. The school invited the federally supported ROTC program on their campus. The university has no say over any aspect of the federally controlled ROTC program. That aggy contracted ROTC members get a free ride and then get to shirk military service is because of a congressional decision, not a state or a school decision. TAMU has no control over who is and who isn’t allowed to participate in the federally controlled ROTC program. Just as the federal government has no control over who is and isn’t allowed to be in the state funded aggy fake military civilian fraternity.

Jesus duke, you just need to stop. I get the hate, but you obviously never went through the reserve officers training corps. Nor had any inclination to do so. Stick with jizz jars, poorly stacked logs, and financial reports. That is more your wheel house.

As a state construct, A&M has no say in any aspect of the ROTC program they host on their campus. “Hate” has nothing to do with explaining to people the federal government supports ROTC and the state supports the civilian aggy corps fraternity. The two are separate as a matter of fact and a matter of law. It is what it is. And, for the record, I did my part and offered my services to the ROTC. Marine Corps to be specific. But I started as a computer science major and the USMC didn’t need cyber warfare specialists. So yes, I did have an inclination. But thanks for playing.
