I used to really like REK until I read an article somewhere about him playing at the cactus cafe and he said something along the lines of, “I don’t mind playing here just as long as I’m taking money from Texas alumni” or something of that nature. Can’t find the article now.

You should start a boycott. That'll show him.

They both tell aggy jokes, have fun with it etc. Especially REK.

For those that have never heard of Lyle outside of his marriage, Christ.   Pontiac still one of my all time records.    Been catching his end of summer tours for years now and still one of the better concerts I’ll see each year. Especially when he had Francine with him.

Also, fuck aggy.

Ahhh, the good ole days when a lot (not all, but a lot) of aggys were aware of their weirdness and laughed at themselves.

Not sure about musical talent of REK, but he does surround himself with talented musicians and his songs are catchy. The one concert I have been too was a damn fun time. He did the aggy heritage thing in a tongue and cheek manner, never went full aggy.

Fun fact, virtually REK's entire family are Longhorns.  That's why he comes off as intelligent.

Uh, yeah, gonna have to disagree with you there. They’re both insanely good. How do you know next-to-nothing about either one?

you handled this better than i would have. there are very few "good ags" out there and I'll give that honor to LL and REK and my buddy Cody.

That ain’t Bobby bare?

Roger Miller.....Dang Me

Well, here I sit high, gettin' ideas
Ain't nothing but a fool would live like this
Out all night and runnin' wild
Woman sittin' home with a month-old child

Dang me, dang me
They oughta take a rope and hang me
High from the highest tree
Woman, would you weep for me?

Just sittin' around drinkin' with the rest of the guys
Six rounds bought, and I bought five
And I spent the groceries and half the rent
Like fourteen dollars and twenty-seven cents

Dang me, dang me
They oughta take a rope and hang me
High from the highest tree
Woman, would you weep for me?

Roses are red and violets are purple
Sugar is sweet and so is maple surple
Well I'm the seventh out of seven sons
My pappy's a pistol, I'm a son-of-a-gun

Well, dang me, dang me
They oughta take a rope and hang me
High from the highest tree
Woman, would you weep for me?

That’s right. Not sure what I was thinking of. But it’s definitely the Rooster on Robin Hood.

http:// https://www.click2houston.com/bush-41/texas-am-corps-of-cadets-to-participate-in-george-hw-bushs-services

“There is various points through history that actually brings us all together as people and brings us all together as citizens of this country and I believe this is one of them,”

There is?

“Counsil and Strickland are two of the approximate 2,500 young men and women who serve in the Corp of Cadets.”

They don’t fucking “serve.” They are members of a club of dumbassery. For God’s sake they aren’t the military.

“It’s going to be sadness, that we lost someone that loves our university so much that cares about the organization I’m in so much.”

It is all about aggy and the corps of dorks. Not a President, WWII Vet, VP, etc.
