florida and vanderbilt need to be switched (and LSU and agros as well) on there if they are actually talking about week 14 and not cumulatively. vanderbilt cratered and florida is rolling.

Guys, I know a lot of stupid stuff here, but I am going to be serious now.

Earlier this year I confessed that I was really, really sacred of Texas A&M.

And today, Monday, Dec 2, 2024, I'm even more really, really scared of Texas A&M.

They filled THE LARGEST STADIUM IN THE SEC WITH A LEVEL OF CANNED MUSIC THAT WE CANNOT HOPE TO MATCH.

They played us even w WITH A BACKUP QUARTERBACK AND EVEN THE OTHER STARTER IS A BACKUP.

They have a coach who is so tough, HE DOESN'T EVEN CARE THAT HE LOOKED LIKE A BELUGA WHALE in his white t-shirt with the proud, Ole' Sarge logo. We don't have a logo that can match that one in spirit, pride, historical battlefields on campus, and toughness.

Even more frightening, THE NEW COACH GETS THEM and LOVES THEIR CULTURE AND TRADITIONS.

I know we won, but from a moral perspective, you have to view the game as a win for the Aggies. Yes, AGGIES. I have a new-found respect for them.

Please tell me if you are also experiencing this level of fear.

@closetojumping already answered this (50%), but here are some details. This link (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit?gid=1682239859#gid=1682239859) has an Aggie by Class tab which lists every signee since 2017 and where they ended their careers. There's also a Texas by Class tab. 16 of 32 signees from 2022 are no longer on the A&M roster.

100% chance Weigman hits the portal this offseason as well

Weigman will enter the transfer portal next Monday when it opens.  He will want to land somewhere for the spring semester.

late reply to some earlier posts but A&M’s overreaction to losing to us is just that an overreaction. They went 8-4 for a first year coach. Wasn’t Sark practically the reverse of that. 5-7 or 5-8? I understand that our rise in the SEC and nationally is painful for them but that’s how it is sometimes.

Posted this just now in the aggie recruiting thread, but here's some more and a miscount somewhere:

Looking back at The Greatest Recruiting Class of All-Time, HOLLAAAA!!!!:

Walter Nolen - gone

Evan Stewart - gone

LT Overton - gone

Denver Harris - gone

Jacoby Mathews - gone

Anthony Lucas - gone

PJ Williams - gone

Jake Johnson - gone

Smoke Bouie - gone

Marquis Groves-Killebrew - gone

Chris Marshall - gone

Bobby Taylor - gone

Ish Harris - gone

Ethan Moczulski - gone

Shemar Stewart - stayed - draft pick

Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy - stayed -bust, rumored to be leaving in winter 2024 window

Conner Weigman - stayed - bust, rumored to be leaving in winter 2024 window

Enai White - stayed - bust, rumored to be leaving in winter 2024 window

Bryce Anderson - stayed

Kam Dewberry - stayed - dude had one snap on Saturday

Le'Veon Moss - stayed

Malick Sylla - stayed - 60 snaps this season

Donovan Green - stayed -got fat and slow after being hurt, getting married. rumored to be leaving in winter 2024 window

Hunter Erb - stayed - 11 snaps this season

Martrell Harris - stayed? - Zero snaps this season. Maybe he left?

Theo Melin Ohrstrom - stayed

Jadon Scarlett - stayed - 8 snaps all year

Jarred Kerr - stayed - 35 snaps all year

Noah Thomas - stayed

Mark Nabou - stayed

14/30 gone with more leaving shortly. Moss, Nabou, Ohrstrom, Anderson, Thomas are the only true producers to have stuck it out. Anderson was a borderline 5 star and now might not be drafted. The others were mid-to-bottom of the class and have outshined the heralded highly ranked guys. This is the kind of class that destroys a program.

Post Texas game.. yeah he gone...

Yep.  That says I’m entering the transfer portal all over it.   It also says he wants to be there, but he’s now just  another QB aggy hyped up to unreal expectations and as soon as he can’t even live up to half of them, they throw to them to curb and move on to the next one.   And it’s rinse and repeat. How many have they done this to since they joined the SEC?  Eight, ten,  maybe more?

I included the 2 transfers (Max Johnson, Micaiah Overton) who are both gone.

It’s an older tradition than that. Senior Jerrod Johnson was replaced by Tannehill. Johnson had replaced McGee. McGee had replaced senior Reggie McNeal. McNeal had replaced … Farris? Did Farris replace McCown? It has been going on for a while

There was a young corps member laughing during thanksgiving dinner at my house about how many of the people marching at Kyle Field aren’t even playing the instruments they are carrying.
They are showing tu up, you see, because “you don’t actually need everyone to play.”

Actually, from a purely talking heads perspective I'm grateful aggie pulled their head of of their ass a tad. Performing at the top of their game (which 8-4 is certainly) actually helped Texas a good deal in 2 regards.

First, because a SEC championship appearance was on the line it truly grabbed a shit ton of attention nationally. I can't imagine any rivalry game out performed the viewership, particularly with the later kick.

Second, because they weren't dead last or a lowly aslo ran it helped our perceived quality wins. Michigan helped a lot in that regard as well.

So, between Michigan winning and Texas convincingly beating aggie (given my first points people actually watched and won't just see the score) makes our seat in the CFP that much higher.

So, thanks Elko for going full aggie and keeping hope alive until November.

Updating this now that the season is over. Through two years the ags #1 overall class is 12-13 which is 3 games worse than Florida's 2010 class that went 15-11 through thr same period.

That Florida class finished 15-10 over the final two years. The aggies will need to win 19 games over the next two years to avoid becoming the worst #1 ranked class of all time.

Can they do it?

Updating this after the regular season. The "Greatest" recruiting class of all time is sitting at 20-16 through 3 years. At the same time Florida was sitting at 26-13 before finishing at 30-21.

To avoid making history the aggies will have to win 11 games before the end of next season.

I don't know man.  From where I'm sitting, I'm not sure it's a "respectable" 8-4.

It includes wins over...
