Texas Pete will be along shortly to chastise you for CR'ing this thread.

I don’t see Cornyn’s affront to all sensible Texans as political in any way. But you do you.

Aggies like to claim that the origin of the name Bevo for our mascot comes from their branding a bovine they did not own without permission and not with the brand of the owner. Do they consider this more in the vein of lying, animal cruelty, or merely garden-variety felonious behavior? I am curious what part of the myth appeals to them most.

Cornyn’s Easter brisket I think from a couple of years ago. Pretty good roast all-around of him after posting. But……probably not as bad as LR’s

I tried to figure out how I might make a brisket look like that, and I can't.  That is some superior shitty cooking.

If the post had been “here’s some super cheap beef I roasted till tender then covered with ketchup and ate it out of the pan because I was fucking shithammered,” I’d have had so much more respect for it.
Hell, I might have even tried it myself.

That or “my wife has never cooked a day in her life, but we decide to let The Help have the day off for the holiday and this is what she fixed up…and believe you me, this is the best tasting ‘brisket’ I’ve ever had, wink wink”

When did this happen? I'm not sure that's how that works.

1963. https://archive.ph/20071016140712/http://theeagle.com/aandmnews/anniversary/1rudderbio.htm https://www.tamu.edu/about/history.html

In the Constitution, it is referred to as "Agricultural & Mechanical College."  Tex. Const. Art. 7, Sec. 13.

And the name included both "college" and "agricultural" and "mechanical" until 1963, when it was "reorganized" as a university, and the agricultural and mechanical officially removed from the name.

Was an aggy held accountable for spitting on Prairie View fans?

Don't you know, ag arrogance is only a thing vs Texas.  Ask Tech fans back in the day how the ags treated and looked down on them?

As the father of a highly successful 8 (almost 9) year old flag football qb that low elbow and arm angle are making me cringe.

The world sees you as an 8-3 team barely ranked in the top-25. In short, a pretty good year for a middling team.

You see yourselves as SEC championship contenders with a shot of winning the national championship.

Even after losing convincingly, some Aggies say that their bizarre position to maybe still make the championship game should be considered a good year as they re-write history and claim they generally viewed 8-4 as a good season back in August.

Childe Graham's final point is the most telling. "Hey, Georgia did it, so we can, too!" They leaned so hard into the flukish way they were at the top of the standings for the SEC, that they see themselves as near champions even after losing their last three SEC games including two games that were complete dominations.

Not all of them leaned so hard into the fiction, but anyone who objected was shouted down and accused of being without testes.

They'll always have their manly manfulness to see them through these tough and injust times.

Texas dominated Texas with turnovers.  Georgia had scoring drives (FG or TD) of 4,13,13,25,34, and 89 yards.

Five possessions starting inside our 40. Three times held to field goals. All of their points with under 200 yards of offense.

They created the turnovers and all of that, but it sure feels anomalous. It will be a different game tomorrow. They may win, but I don't expect to be like last time.

I'm very happy to play them again.

I will add this dark note: nobody should make the playoff that has already lost twice to another team in the playoffs. The system needs to be tweaked or the SEC needs to be tweaked to lessen the possibility of that happening.

Beat them dawgs!

LIke...why do they add LSU and Mizzou like those were tough games?  switch Kentucky and Miss ST with those two school...Texas is STILL a one loss team.

Switch them with Tennessee/Bama/Ole Miss.  Okay...Texas is a 2 loss team, and STILL qualifies for the SEC Title game most likely.

Like WTF is their problem.  Basically some of them have realized their schedule was as soft as ours, and some pretend it was still tougher?

If Texas played against aggy every week we'd be 12-0

Relaxed is the antithesis of aggy.  Instead of a collie, a more appropriate mascot would be a jittery chihuahua that barks and nips impotently at bigger dogs and gets carried around in maroon Dooney & Burke purse by an overweight 45 yr-old woman with a " Proud Aggie Mom" t-shirt.
