ASU’s surroundings is awesome compared to most of the US. Golf courses abound, MLB Spring Ball, and the “eye candy” on campus is enough for me! Their only problem is about 30-45 days each summer that you have to damned near stay inside during daylight.

I could retire there in a heartbeat! College sports to cheer for year round just being a “local” fan.

Hook’em!!!

Fully agree and if you're into process geomorphology or architecture there are some amazing things to see as well.

The summer time 100 degree temps at 10 pm (yes, I've seen that in person) is too much for me but I'd never fault someone for choosing it.

120F at midnight, 110F at sunrise?

for months at a time every year?

inre: aggy, i checked out the "culture" thread - no one is threatening to have a eureka! moment - culture problem is an inexplicable equation totally not about milkmen, fishcamp, lying, cheating, stealing, building shit that falls down or is the wrong size, forgetting to check the wind direction, etc.etc.etc.X1000

what Aggy doesn't get is that it takes depth to win the National Championship. Every team has injuries.

you think we wouldn't look even better with CJ Baxter this season?

When injuries happen - good teams crumble, great teams have other players who step up.

Yup. At least they had Moss for part of the season.  Our injuries happened in fall camp and we went the whole season  nursing basically a 2 man RB room, with one guy having fumblitis.
They don’t think that affects how to execute offense?

You guys are seriously overstating the heat in AZ

You can fry an egg out there on the city sidewalk
You can fry your bacon and and and and
I understand why lizards live in sunny Arizona
Why people do and call it home I'll never understand
It's hotter than a furnace fan out in Arizona
110 ain't nothing when you live out there you see
Stars come out you scream and shout "Hey it's good to know you"
If you're going there and you don't mind say hello for me

We haven't quite reached that time of year when the rollercoaster starts ascending, that will only happen after Texas' last game of the season. But you can bet your ass they are all jumping in the cars and scrambling to figure out how to lower that safety bar over Elko's massive f'n gut. But come February, like a phoenix rising from the ashes....

Right now, Dear Leader(s) El Loocidore and Graham Master Spunk are hearding the cattle to the roller-coaster slaughter gates with brilliant propaganda. Only after they've gotten in line for the ride with the then the nearly impossible task of buckling in the whale be addressed.

In the meantime we get to enjoy all the ND wish casting and revisionist history along with the tons of OSU will kill tu talk.

It gets desperate and wild if Texas wins and ND loses to Pedo State.. but.. I don't think either is likely.

I've spent a July and August working in Scottsdale and it was fucking hot but when I would fly back home and walk out of SAT, it felt like being smothered in a hot wet blanket. Dry heat is a lot more tolerable than humid heat.

I moved out to the Phoenix metro just over 4 years ago, from the Austin area. Yes it gets hot in July and August (115°+), but if you're not in direct sun it's tolerable (that's where misters are great to have). I also have a pool, makes those hot evenings a lot more tolerable. This last summer had over 30 consecutive days of over 110°. Last winter there were only two nights where the temp hit 32°. Winters are extraordinarily mild, and pleasant. When Texas got hit with the Ice Armageddon, we didn't get a single night of ice.

I prefer dealing with a couple months of very hot weather, and many more months of very nice weather. Winter is not wet and cold, just cool. Today was 49° at 8 AM and 75° at 4 PM.

Wow. My grandmother had these exact joke books. I have vivid childhood memories of reading these to get to sleep when we'd visit her. First times I saw the term 'teasipper'... Seemed bizarre, even then, to a small kid, that they had their fake military motif going.... Is there another university anywhere whose primary identity is "redneck laughingstock"?

The only time I find that area absolutely unbearable is after the summer rains.  Holy shit.  I went out on business a few years ago in early August.  Just after the rains had ended.  My first day, not a cloud in the sky and like 116 degrees.  Humid AF and just fucking brutal.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas A&M Meat Judging Team earned Reserve  Little Brother National Champion honors at the AMSA Nationals.

They earned a perfect score in specification and first place overall in Lamb Judging.

Dillon Prokop was named High Individual Overall. Prokop and Kyla Beck were named to the AMSA All-American Team.

Fixed it.

Hahahahahahaha. Do those inbreds actually watch these games? Texas seemed to be pitted against the refs constantly, especially the no calls that don't show up on the stat sheet. Those are usually more impactful that the actuall called penalties.

Did they watch the ASU game? They were allowed to hold on every other play. Georgia was allowed to hold constantly in both of their games against us. Refs were ready to fuck us hard on a bogus PI call in the first Georgia game when we got the pick. It took a French Revolution from the fans to have them make the correct call.

aggy tears are awesome.

And what was once touted as a grueling week in week out schedule of the SEC grind, now all of a sudden Texas has a soft schedule. I thought every game was tough in the SEC? Funny how that changes. Texas beat quite a few teams that went onto beat other good SEC teams. Vandy beat Bama. Florida beat Ole Miss. Michigan beat Bama and Ohio St. Arkansas beat Tennessee. OU dominated Bama. See how this works? The grind only applies to other teams but with Texas, it's now a soft schedule.

So Aggy of them:

Poor aggy! They tucked their tail and ran off to the SEC. This became their identity. Any discussions with aggy fans, one of their main bulletpoints was that they play in the SECSECSEC and no way could the Tsips handle this top to bottom tough conference. Even though aggy never even won their division in their 13 seasons there, they touted the SEC pride. Even though every other fanbase sees them as the inbred outcasts they are. No one respects them.

They thought they were safe from daddy forever, Once it was announced daddy was coming home, they brushed it off but deep down, I know they were a little nervous. But they truly believed no way Texas could compete this fast. We did in one single season what aggy never could, make the SEC champ game. We also went into Pyle Field and beat them, just like 2011. And what was once touted as a grueling week in week out schedule of the SEC grind, now all of a sudden Texas has a soft schedule. I thought every game was tough in the SEC? Funny how that changes. See how this works? The grind only applies to other teams but with Texas, it's now a soft schedule. While we didn't win the SEC itself, we came in right away and exerted our place in this hillbilly conference. And are the last ones left in the playoffs. Not one single other SEC team even won a single game.

Now, aggy wants no more SEC pride because Texas is apart of it and doing only what they could dream of.

Add to this with not doing the time change in summer daybreak is about 5am and it takes around 90 minutes for the sun to clear mountains to roast you. You can get an early morning run in.

I really don’t find summer different from Dallas or Houston.

Evaporation works here. Took me a while to realize why I wasn’t sweat soaked. Getting in an 80F pool when it is 115F is same body shock as getting into Barton Springs.

7 months out of the year the weather is fantastic.
