Notre Dame's Jack Swarbrick's Salary is Way Higher Than Any Other Athletics Director

JOE RAYMOND/APNotre Dame athletics director Jack Swarbrick earns more than $3 million annually.

I can't even imagine the daily demands of Jack Swarbrick's job, but at least the Notre Dame athletics director is getting paid handsomely for his services.

Swarbrick, a Notre Dame graduate, was appointed athletics director in 2008. A decade later, he's believed to be the highest-paid athletics director in the country. According to new data published by USA Today and Athletic Director U, Swarbrick has a base salary of $994,751 but earns $2,056,169 through "other university compensation," bringing his annual compensation to >$3,050,920. Though the data only includes figures for 115 of 130 athletics directors (hence "he's believed to be the highest-paid athletics director"), it's highly unlikely another AD is making more.

None of the other 114 ADs earn more than $1.6 million per year, with Northwestern's Jim Phillips ($1,570,766) and Wisconsin's Barry Alvarez ($1,550,000) coming in second and third, respectively. There are some notable ADs whose compensation was not reported, including Miami 's Blake James, Stanford's Bernard Muir and USC 's Lynn Swann, though none of them are believed to earn anywhere near the $3 million that Swarbrick does.

Here's a look at the 17 ADs earning over $1 million (you can view the full list here😞

CDC received a $200K raise since the above article was published and now makes over $1.5 million for his base salary.  Possibly making him the second highest compensated AD.

aggy needs to back the hot check truck up to Phil fulmers door and bring him in.  Not only is he SEC ready, but they will have 2 mnc winning coaches on staff.   TWO!!!

Come on aggy, show the country how well you can burn money, and hang another title on krogers wall.  Just think of it as insurance if bilbo bolts for the bayou. Plus think of all the UT/tu jokes you could conjure out of that greatness.  Please, please, at least consider it.
