aggy fans are getting close to being done with Buzz Williams. They lost to a bottom feeder Big 12 basketball program last night for the 2nd year in a row (TCU).

Now that UH is "officially" P5 - not that it matters in hoops - why the fuck would a good baller go to aggy?

They aren't. Look at their current recruiting class....this is just awful. It doesn't look like aggy cares to drop bags for basketball like they do in football.

Uhhh, who gave him this advice? Will he even be drafted?

To his credit, Leon correctly surmised an additional year of college experience wasn’t going to help his draft status.

Im guessing he’s destined to be a chicken farmer, putting that quality aggy edumacation to its highest and best use.

The funny thing is all the aggy in the replies and quote RTs are talking about "what a great player and ambassador that represents everything right about texum University!"

A loudmouth safety who constantly talked shit but never backed it up and got burned on the biggest plays?

Now imagine if he had this same exact career but played for mean old tay yew! Something tells me they wouldn't view him as an "ambassador". They might call him something else - probably starting with an "n".

Leon O'Neal was one of the finest safeties to play the game of football. A tenacious defender with blazing closing speed, O'Neal hit like a ton of bricks on anyone foolish enough to come across the middle. He could read a quarterback's eyes like no other, deciphering the play call just by the way the quarterback broke the huddle. When you start a football team, your first player you pick is Leon O'Neal. Truly one of the greatest to ever put on the pads.

So far on texags I have read that:

Ewers will be a bust, he’s Tate Martell 2:0.  That we paid him $5M and counting.  Jimbo didn’t want him because he’s a head case.

Our NIL program is stupid and second rate because we are telling everyone what we are doing, and that “dropping bags of money is more morally better”. Our NIL program is fraudulent and a failure.   We are trying to out do ‘80s SMU (that’s rich).  They should start a performance based NIL that pays all their OL, DL, LBs, QBs, WRs, DBs, and special teams all 50;001.

Seriousl, what a bunch of dumbfucks.

So are all these guys that are declaring skipping the bowl game?  Jimbo usually does a good job of getting his guys to play the bowls.
It's the stifling and oppressive aggy culture that usually pressures draft eligible players to play in meaningless bowl games against basketball schools, not so much the coach.

talk about "rinse and repeat."  this piece dropped earlier this morning.  good fucking lord.

First and 10: Jimbo Fisher is building an FSU-like champion at Texas A&M. Will that be enough to pass Alabama?

You can be an Xs and Os genius, you can have infallible schemes and put players in position to win games. But if you don’t’have Deshaun Watson or Trevor Lawrence or Cam Newton or Joe Burrow (and a bunch of other elite players), you’re more than likely not beating Saban and Alabama – and being a former assistant has nothing to do with it.

But Fisher changed that dynamic this season. He beat Saban without a boatload of elite players.

The only question remaining is what happens when Fisher gets those players? I’m going to give you the best possible answer, and only because it’s right in front of our faces.

Florida State happens.

If Fisher does it right, if he turns Texas A&M into a version of Florida State, he’ll get the Aggies to the College Football Playoff, and when playing for the national title, nearly every single player on the starting 24 will either be drafted by an NFL team or will have been on an NFL roster (like it did at FSU in 2013).

The last team to do something close to that (LSU, 2019) beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa and won the national title, and became the greatest team in the modern era of college football. Then got 18 players either drafted or signed with NFL teams.

There’s your bar, Aggies. That’s what Jimbo Fisher is chasing, not some ghost of a former mentor who has some magical spell over his pupils.

Did he show opposing fans how to get to the stadium while also complementing how truly great their fan base is?

Another example of why I say, "Those who know A&M best respect A&M the least."

I cannot remember a time where people were talking about what A&M has accomplished, instead of what A&M "was about to accomplish."

Those just getting to know A&M actually believe A&M is a military academy with a great and admirable military history. They actually believe A&M is a wealthy institution. They actually believe A&M athletics are "on the precipice."

All these are laughable to those who know A&M well.

Trust me, I wish I could find any reason to respect that which is Texas A&M. I am envious of schools such as Duke and UNC, or Stanford and Cal, each of which has a rival that is a peer institution, and each of which is a well respected institution.

But no. All we get is Texas fucking A&M.

"The sleeping giant." "On the precipice."

The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.

oh, and USC 2004 and Texas 2005 would have taken that LSU team to the woodshed.
USC 2005 as well..

Everyone forgets turtle Tom (using many of the same players we had this past season) came within a dropped TD pass of beating the fightin' Ogres.

'19 LSU was a great team, they proved that by running the table on a tough schedule, but "best CFB team of the modern era?" Nah dawg, whoever came up with that hasn't been a CFB fan for very long.
