He owes them nothing if he leaves.  If they fire him, they owe him the balance of his contract at the time, somewhere around 80M is left I think.   You can bet your ass they will be looking for cause, it’s why he has denied denied denied that NIL had anything to do with that class.   He knew he couldn’t claim NIL because that would eventually come out in the wash that there was none.   He can just deny and deflect, claim ignorance of what was really going on, he has a smart agent who told him how he keeps the money is to not know anything and claim they all came because they love the lit station.

It going to make it harder to prove he knew about illegal payments which is probably the best they could hope for in their eventual for cause case.   2 more seasons of 8-4 or worse and you can bet they are looking for that out.

His extension kicked in this past January and runs through 2031. The first year of the new deal was for $9.0 mil/yr. The contract has escalators that bump his base $100k/yr. As of today, there is around $87 mil left on his contract.

Simply unbelievable.
But it’s aggy.
So completely believable.

Second to last line.  I. No contract lawyer but looks like they’d owe him nothing other then already earned compensation.  Am I reading that right ?

That's if HE decides to leave.  So no buyout required.

Also, the first two sentences of that section are ones I can' imagine a good lawyer including in a contract as they mean nothing, except to reinforce the insecurity of their clients and to say "pretty please don't leave us!".

A key takeaway from The University of Low Educational Achievement is that it is ok to lie to yourself and to your fellow gullible white trash rednecks if that is what it takes to get you through life.

"My sources tell me" for millennia primitive cultures have been fabricating "knowledge" to "understand" why the teachings of their cultures don't correlate well with observed reality.

aggys don't lie, cheat, or steal, of tolerate those who do. But if you suffer from low educational achievement, how do you know if it's a lie of not?

The people of Texas deserve better than The University of Low Educational Achievement.

(Fun fact for the day, Texas A&M's "national championship' was so long ago, it preceded the advent of both the face mask and the penalty flag)

So aggy's only ever football national championship, which was disputed ... happened 12 years before Elizabeth became the Queen? LMFAO.

On a serious note. Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth. Amazing woman.

aggys "national championship" in football was so long ago, it was before the invention of the penalty flag. Think about that.

"Penalties were originally signaled using whistles or horns. In 1943, college coach Dike Beede gave the first penalty flags to a 4-person crew led by Jack McPhee, who found the penalty flags clear and easy to use in noisy environments, which led to their eventual use in professional football in 1948."

For a little more perspective on the impressive aggy futility, this graphic was just on BBC America. Throughout her reign, Queen Elizabeth dealt with 15 PMs, 14 POTUS, and 7 Popes ...

John F. Kennedy was still at Harvard,  and Wyatt Earp had only been dead for 10 years.

The Warsaw Pact and NATO had not been created, and the Cold War had not started.   In the interim the USSR grew in prominence, then collapsed, along with the Warsaw Pact and the end to the Cold War.  We are now 32 years AFTER this and Russia still sucks and is apparently getting their shit pushed in (deservedly) by Ukraine…..and still no aggy football national championships.

Slava Ukraine and the aggy tradition that made this possible!

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics lasted 74 years- 1917/1991.

Texas A&M’s major sports national championship era of wandering aimlessly in the wilderness has (so far) lasted 84 years.

…and zero Aggie NCs!😂

A good perspective- the Ag NC happened almost 20 years before the 49th and 50th stars made it to the US flag!

I Checked out the box score on Appalachian State's game last week against UNC, and they scored 40 points in the 4th quarter. I don't think I have ever seen that in CFB, unless it was some P5 vs cupcake game running up the score in the first half. That's the most points in a single quarter since 2007.  This game might actually be interesting.

No. That’s gotta be left over boiler plate from an old contract where they usually put the buyout. But instead of deleting the entire thing, they talk about what harm it would be to the university and then say don’t care got Jimbo.

Wow. 14, 7, 0, 40. WTF?

ETA: 62 combined points in the 4th quarter. How is that even possible?

Mack Brown special.  Went prevent and gave up a ton of easy stuff thinking the game was in hand.

Recall that this man was a mentor to Tom Herman and all will make sense.
