Kid Rock (and Bud Light slap-fight) y’all

It really is amazing that most of these really "prominent" anti-woke entertainers are all past their prime artists people haven't given a shit about in 20-30 years. Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, Ted Nugent, Scott Baio, Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, Kristy Swanson, Jon Voight. It's almost as if it's a sad attempt to stay relevant.

Hey, at least Jon Voight was in those 3 good movies.  OK, 2.5 good movies.

Plus, his brother wrote some good songs.

People who think Kid Rock is better than Jason Isbell are the same people who think Jimmy Buffett is better than Led Zeppelin.  They're either trolling, or they're so stupid that you'll wish they hadn't bred 6 times.

A terrible performance of an actually pretty good country song.

Isbell would never write this tortured crap, and remember, this is WITH Sheryl helping out:

I put your picture away
Sat down and cried today
I can't look at you while I'm lying next to her
I put your picture away
Sat down and cried today
I can't look at you while I'm lying next to her

Yes, it’s not elite songwriting but at least  the subject matter includes medicating self-inflicted heartbreak and loneliness with drugs and booze. It’s not a Jason Isbell song but seems like “The Grand Tour” compared to this

This is one more turn the simulation has taken that I still cannot wrap my head around.  It was 1999 or 2000.  I had moved back to Austin from California.  Friend has his dad's boat, they invite me.  It's over-capacity with top-heavy chicks in thongs.  I cannot believe my luck.  We're on Lake Travis.  We're blasting "Devil Without a Cause", they're doing lines of blow off each other's asses.  Greatest lake day ever.  So then I decided to put the brakes on it and say, "Did y'all know that in 20+ years, this insurrectionist will back a failed game show host in his efforts to undermine our democracy?"

I did not say that, we partied hard.  But I cannot fucking believe this is the same guy who scored one of the 10 funnest days of my life, and I've had some fun ones.

RIP, Rock.  Asshat.

Look man, I get it. That album was fun as shit and was the soundtrack to cheap good times for like 3 years.  In 2003 or so I performed "Cowboy" during karaoke at a bar in Boise, Idaho and a college girl threw her panties at me. Nothing came of it as I was about to turn 30 and a married new father to boot, but nevertheless I appreciated the positive feedback.

Holy shit Travis Tritt is still alive?

In the summer of 1992 a beautiful girl from Watauga left the Travis Tritt album "it's all about to change" in my '67 Mustang and it stayed there until I donated the car in 2020. Whenever I heard the song "The Whiskey Ain't Workin" I would remember that unfortunately the whiskey worked all too well.

How fucking dare you leave off Jim Breuer off that esteemed dais!

We all have our different ways of saying we love America, but all of these guys come off as looking like tools.

However, I had 2 Budweisers Monday night with my tacos and I was not disappointed, maybe they were fresh bottles. Brought me back to my youth and the early days of drinking.  All this talk hits close to home.

Ted Nugent

Kid Rock

Travis Tritt

Reads like an all star Lake Charles casino residency lineup.

Ted Nugent wishes he could get a Lake Charles residency

He never even cracked the top 20. No one knows any of his shitty songs

Fify

and yes, Stranglehold is a great song.  I just hope he falls on one of his arrows.

Hey Travis, here’s a quarter….jam it up your ass with the longest spike of a rusty pitchfork.
That’s not how the song goes? Well, it should be.

I mean, “I got rice cooking in the microwave, Got a three day beard I don't plan to shave”, who doesn’t rank that right up there with Sunday Morning Coming Down?

I remember not being able to go to the concert because my mom didn't like the kids who offered to drive, and the next day seeing them all bummed out because overnight, after the concert at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin (about 90 minutes from where I grew up), a Texan guitar-slinger named Stevie Ray Vaughan had died.

I remember the day Jerry Garcia died.  I had just seen them all play (for what would be my final show of the original incarnation of the band) in Tampa a couple months prior.  I was in summer school in Florida when we heard the news.  We ate mushrooms that night and listened to Grateful Dead records until near dawn and went to the beach for sunrise.

I remember when Lou Reed died.  I was having lunch with Robert Knott and Giancarlo Esposito in Austin.  We toasted to him that night at Lambert's.

But none of those memories will ever, ever compare to where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news that prolific virtuoso and musical genius, Kid Rock gave up drinking Bud Light.  I just hope Don McClean has one more magnum opus in him to capture what we all felt today.

Fuck everybody, Bud Light is my go-to.
I live in the microbrew capital of the world, but I'll take a bud light over some local IPA dogshit any day of the week.

Bud Light is ass my dude.

Guarantee if you’re in the “microbrew capital of the world” you can find plenty of non-IPA shit that’s 100 times better than Bud Light.

Shit, even if beers with flavor aren't your thing, I'd happily drink a seltzer before I voluntarily touch a light beer post-college. "Hmm, tastes like carbonated piss, I'm barely buzzed after 5, but I do feel like a bloated piece of shit. Sign me up!"

how much piss do you normally drink to be able to gauge this?
