TEAM

With the team reporting on Monday, January 17th, and the first day of offseason workouts beginning the next day, you'll see more Longhorns trickling into Austin this week. New signees like Terrance Brooks arrive on Tuesday, and Quinn Ewers should be in town by Wednesday. The first day of spring ball will be March 22nd.

There's a sense of a new day within the team and program, and an eagerness to get back to the field after a 5-7 opening campaign for Sarkisian. When Sark inherited this bunch last winter, there were a handful of players that didn’t really buy-in and this offseason the staff’s goal was to clean house. While there was some apathy with a few elder statesmen, the core of this young bunch has a strong resolve, with guys like Byron Murphy, Xavier Worthy, Jaylan Ford, and Jahdae Barron helping usher in the new era.

As IT posted over the weekend, we are confident ex-TCU head coach Gary Patterson will join the UT football program. It’s said Patterson wants to stay behind the scenes which is a good indication he‘s not looking to ruffle any feathers. Part of his job will be critiquing practices, self scouting, and of course scouting the competition.

Patterson arrives at Texas with a sterling reputation from former coaches. He’s seen as a coach's coach, in that he’s very loyal to his guys. At the same time, he coaches them hard and is demanding. That’s a hard balance to strike but he made a career out of it in Fort Worth.

Hindsight, huh? Because you cunts and your "sources" sure as shit weren't blasting this out last offseason.

Fraud. Plain and simple.

Yep, seems like we've heard this song and dance before.

That said, I'm withholding judgement until after the upcoming season.

Whole. New. Attitude.

2022-23 season:   5-7 again, but with total team buy in this time.

I joke and cry at the same time because the possibility is real.

I'm not sure what a "coach's coach" means, and the context here is nonsensical.

Is he going to the league as a place kicker or punter? Based on last season I’d think he has a better chance of making a team doing the latter

He can save a team a roster spot of he can handle both.

Lol no team is going to sign Dicker as a punter and a kicker. He’s not even good enough to make the league at one spot let alone both.

I’ll bet you 5 bucks he punts or kicks at least once in an NFL game.

I think if Dicker focused only on punting he could make a career out of that.  He just not consistent enough as a kicker(although he did do better last year).

If he can get good enough punting his potential to help with kicking if there is an injury could be an asset for a team.   maybe he could punt and KO so a team could have some flexibility with a potential shorter but very accurate FG kicker.

If Dicker kicks or punts in an NFL game, you have to post your tits on Surly.
