The staff still seems to be going after all of Lee, Brew, and Sanchez at CB.  I’m not sure if we take a CB if we miss on those three, unless there’s a late riser not currently on our board.

You are probably right, but I also believe that the staff thinks that it absolutely has to have another CB. This means that the staff is confident that it can do what is necessary to bring in at least one of those three.

or find one in the portal like they have done in the past. The portal absolutely means chase the elite players and if you miss go get one from there instead.

Goddammit Donnie we had finally moved past that fucking idiocy and here you come two days later like a child wandering into the middle of a movie asking what the fuck is going on.

I’m entitled to express my opinion in this shithole no matter when …

-The 2026 S is reclassifying so they’re done after that position unless he screws something up late.

Zelus Hicks reclassifying is a huge win. Keeping a 5 star safety from Georgia committed to us for over a year would be a tough task.

I generally don’t like the idea of a guy reclassifying to enroll in August, but I’ll absolutely take it over having to hold on for a year

x2 all of this. Considering he's an obvious redshirt candidate and won't, nor shouldn't, be expected to play early, it's all good.

Disruptive. I couldn’t stop laughing at the second clip, where he chases down and mauls a QB that appears to weigh about a buck thirty.

Watch number 23 at the 1:28 mark. That kid is even smaller. He sees Charles' (very large) teammate coming and is basically just like "nope. You're on your own, QB."

This is the depth chart:

LDT 95 Collins, Alfred SR 99 Lole, Jermayne GR/TR 94 Bledsoe, Jaray RS SO
NT 15 Norton, Bill GR/TR 53 Bryant, Aaron RS SO 90 Mitchell, Sydir RS FR
RDT 45 Broughton, Vernon RS SR 98 Savea, Tiaoalii SR/TR 97

January, Alex FR

Hills wasnt on there, but need to add him

Texas is losing 5 DTs.. I believe that leaves 5 DTs on the roster for next year. Texas is going to have to go to the portal again this year. They need to take numbers at DT, so they can get out of this recent portal trend. With rosters expanding and recent on field success I cannot think of a reason not to load up.

Are all those GTs one and done?

They might lose 7 if you include Bledsoe and Mitchell

8 if you count Mitchell twice.

I don't believe we even need to count Mitchell once. It's obvious the dude's time in Austin is over. He's basically already gone. Accordingly, the coaches are already allocating a transfer spot there.

247 updated its ranking and most of our commits got huge jumps.  Jackson is now a composite 5* and Charles, Sharma, Barnes, Townsend, McCutcheon got big bumps.

Nick Brooks dropped out of the top 247 though.

Mbatchou is now in the top 247 and a composite 5*.

That is nuts. Ton of upside on the kid, but he is rotational player in his first year of football. He has all the tools to be an NFL guy, but he is also ridiculously raw. High ceiling/low floor guys should not be 5 stars.

Where 2025 Texas football commits, targets stand in the updated Top247 rankings

Spoiler

Where 2025 Texas football commits, targets stand in the updated Top247 rankings

How Texas football targets and commits stack up in the updated Top247 rankings.

Jordan Scruggs

247Sports just released its newest Top247 for the Class of 2025 featuring a number of moves for Texas targets.

The Top247 is 247Sports' ranking of the top 247 recruits across the country. It — along with the other rankings in the industry — help compile the 247Sports Composite, which takes into account the ranking of each player on each site.

To read more about how 247Sports decides on rankings and how the process works, click HERE.

This update to the Top247 is one of the more comprehensive updates I've seen for a senior class as there's 40 newcomers to the Top247 including a handful of Texas commits and targets.

Here is a look at how Texas targets and commits are stacked up in the updated Top247 rankings.

Dropped out of Top247:

Nick Brooks, OT, Loganville (Ga.) Grayson – Texas commit

*Previous ranking: No. 143

*New ranking: 90 rated nationally unranked four-star

-Fasusi up from 27 to 17.

-LaMont Rogers up from 104 to 27.

-Brooks down to an unranked four star from 143.

Many mock drafts indicate that Texas likely has two day one OTs picked in May, 2025. While I know there are good OTs in waiting (Goosby and Baker), Brooks should be a good development guy, and Texas leads for Turntine in 2026, I would really like to land Rogers or Fasusi in this class. Nevertheless, Brooks may end up being a starter faster than not, rankings are oftentimes wrong, and Texas may take a portal OT this offseason anyways. Plus, OU's season could go to shit and Fasusi could flip.

Sounds like someone is looking for reasons to reroute her boy.
