We still recruiting Kade Phillps?

He has to be regretting his decision, right?!

Man, I hope so. But he's a safety who wants to play corner. We have two 5 star safeties already, so I doubt they're even interested. Now Aiden Anding is another story. He's a pure corner. Hopefully with LSU collapsing we can get him in the fold. It would be nice if we could add Harlem Berry r, but I doubt we take 3 RB's.

For shits and giggles I added Fasusi, Hilson, Terry, and Littleton using the 247 Class Calculator.  Those four bring us to 314.03, which puts us ahead of Alabama for the top class by 10.80 points.   Last year Georgia was number 1 with 317.19, and in 2023 Alabama was number one with 328.

Bama is at 310.

Weather the Miami OV and grab Wiley and we'll be just fine

Is this really relevant to Texas though? I know at one point Texas was recruiting Owusu-Boateng but it appears that ship sailed a long time ago.

I doesn't seem like Texas is recruiting Wiley because they're missing on NO-B.

The problem with Fausi and Texas has always been the depth chart. We have a real one, okie and aggy do not.

I was more surprised by Gerry’s comment because Lamont Rogers is basically an A&M commit at this point and I figured they wouldn’t end up at the same school.

But I guess NIL can make a lot of other concerns magically go away.

Did you watch his HUDL?

Yeah. He's a great athlete of course and a very violent hitter, but will need work on traditional linebacker-y things. Read and react without hesitation, etc. Also has kind of an unusual frame for an LB. He's very long and lean - in fact, my very first thought when I put on the tape was that he looks like a WDE.

He's exactly the frame that PK wants in his defense at LB.

Could you imagine him and Barnes next to each other in the middle of the field? Or at edge in a nascar package?

I have never viewed Fasusi as a must get recruit, whereas Oklahoma and aggy do. That likely means they will bid each other up as we head to the finish line. Texas would be better served to focus on Turntine.

Fong and Chad Simmons on Miami and Florida pushing for Jaime Ffrench

The recruitment of five-star Mandarin (Fla.) wide receiver Jaime Ffrench has been a long and winding one.

At this time a year ago, Ffrench was committed to Alabama under Nick Saban. When he retired, Ffrench backed off that pledge and reopened his recruitment fully. Ohio State quickly became the leader in the clubhouse.

But as the spring went along, the Buckeyes faded and LSU, Miami and Texas looked to be the top teams. Eventually he committed to the Longhorns in late August after a drawn out process. But just a few months later, things are getting interesting again.

“There’s some buzz that ultimately it’s more likely he stays in the state than signs with Texas,” On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong said on Wednesday. “So you’ve got Miami, and you’ve got Florida battling for Ffrench.”

Added On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons: “I think there’s some confidence that Texas can keep him in this class. And they’ve been involved with him since the spring, getting his mom and dad on campus — Jamie as well. But Florida is not going away. They’re getting him on campus this weekend for an OV, a full weekend spent in Gainesville. Miami, he has been there numerous times. Kevin Beard and that staff is not going away.”

Early playing time, chance to play with DJ Lagway could be key for Ffrench

One of the biggest things in Florida’s favor — other than head coach Billy Napier being getting a vote of confidence earlier this month — is that the Gators have a quicker path to the field than the Longhorns.

While UF does have sophomore Aidan Mizell and Eugene Wilson III seeing playing time early, there’s still an opportunity for Ffrench to make an immediate impact. The chance to stay closer to home cannot be discounted, and neither can the ability to play with former Five-Star Plus+ quarterback DJ Lagway.

The Gators are also trending for four-star quarterback and current Florida State commit Tramell Jones, who is high school teammates with Ffrench at Jacksonville Mandarin.

Ffrench was actually in Austin for last weekend’s matchup between the Longhorns and Gators, and although Texas won handily, it didn’t prevent him from setting an official visit with UF.

The Hurricanes, meanwhile, haven’t hosted Ffrench since July but boast one of the best offenses — and wide receiver groups — in the country this season.

is this a coincidence since CJ/Gerry said there has been communication between Dakorian and Texas this past week?

If the staff stopped reaching out to DK Moore they weren’t doing their job. I interpreted the communication as DK took the call.
