The evidence is that Georgia is the superior team. They won twice, what else do they have to do to prove it? (They may actually have to do it three times which is weird as fuck to me.) In some ways, their superiority may be found in intangibles. They rally well. They responded brilliantly to the adversity of losing their QB (who kinda sucks anyway). Coaching-wise, they improvised an offense in the second half that managed to score.

If we execute better, we win that game. But we didn't. I expect improvement in execution every year Sark is coach because that has been the trend.

We may go through SMU and Boise to get to them again (if not sooner), at which point our boys would be foaming at the mouth. High drama.

Plus, every one of those fumbles bouncing right back to them didn't help.

Sheesh that was driving me absolutely crazy. Plus the one on Stockton that flew/rolled out of bounds instead of stopping in the field. And the almost Mukuba INT off the Barron deflection but they happened to have a WR right there to knock it down.

I’m surprised the backup QB held onto the ball after Mukuba knocked him out

Did Stockton return? I thought he had to stay off the field because his helmet came off...and to be reminded of who and where he was.

No, he did come out, since there was no defensive penalty. Beck came back in to handoff the ball for the winning TD.

Georgia is really good against screens.   They rarely get hurt by them.  They are a bad matchup for us because of that combined with injuries and Ewers limitations.  We still almost beat them if not for Side Show Bob. It would be neat if Bond can heal up in 2 weeks, but they tried that once before when he sat against Miss St. and it still lingered.

I'm convinced Quinn is still not fully recovered from his abdominal injury.  He just isn't the same since the injury.  I realize he has limitations, but he just isn't nearly as decisive or aggressive since the injury.  Will be interesting if he has to have anything off-season. repaired in offseason.

Georgia has weaknesses, maybe more than us. But we're not built to exploit them.

The best way to negate a vaunted DL is with a mobile QB. We don't have that with Ewers. UGA's gameplan is to shut down the run game coming downhill (and the screen game, which is an extension of our run game). They are fine with conceding the intermediate throws (slants, comeback routes, lofted throws to open space) that are part of Quinn's limited skillset outside the 20s. Once we get into the redzone and those throws go away, we have nothing.

And that isn't an exaggeration. There is nothing in our offense’s toolbox now that works against Georgia in the redzone. We used to roll Quinn out in the redzone to hit corner routes. Quinn can no longer do that with his ankle injury. We can't run inside or outside the tackles. Scoring in the redzone requires Quinn to zip much tougher throws that he currently cannot make.

This is why Sark put together the Arch RZ package.   Give him credit for that.   However people are right to question why he won't let it run for a whole set of downs.  It's a little strange.  If something works, keep doing it until they stop it.

If Georgia was called for the same DPIs or offensive holdings that we were, we win the game. If we stop that fake punt, we probably win the game. If Bert hits just one of his missed FGs, we win the game. If Colin Simmons is able to return that fumble for a TD, or if Guilbeau blocks for Jahdae so he can get the pick six, we win the game.

Quinn missed some throws and Georgia missed a couple of picks too. The football gods (along with the refs) were on Georgia's side last night.

Credit to them for gutting out the win though.

They are who we thought they were, but we let them off the hook.

coulda woulda shoulda.

If we meet again it is the final, Sark needs to pull the chord quickly if not immediately for Arch, at some point we just have to admit matchups, wish QE good luck in the NFL but if he is a team player he should know that their weak link is  a dual threat QB

How does ND match up with them?  Mobile QB and real good defense.

If Beck is out, which is likely because rumors are he tore a ligament in his elbow. Georgia isn't making it past the quarter. ND has a very good defense and a mobile QB.

I've seen talk on a few boards of Tommy John surgery for Beck.

what’s his story?

Committed to roll tide but didn't sign cuz go blue is making a run at him.  Would be interesting if Texas makes a go at him as well but I don't think he fits Flood's prototypical big human OL as a prospect.

Drives me crazy that their punter got hurt and we STILL weren't looking for the fake.

Felt the same way about the last play. They send in Beck with a broken arm and we STILL couldn't stop that run up the gut.

What drives me crazy is not being prepared for QB draw when they went 5 wide. Most obvious play call

Looks like Beck and the punter are out for the playoffs. Pyrrhic victory for the Dawgs.

When you play good teams and good coaches sometimes you lose.  The football board thinks we're entitled to win everytime we roll the football out.

Georgia is a good team...its hardly surprising we struggled to put it in the end zone against them.

Sometimes you lose....it sucks..move on.

But if you try sometime you'll find
You get what you need.

And yet Georgia has conclusively proven they're better than us in the trenches, by a big enough margin to negate our advantages elsewhere.

These two posts being back-to-back is out-fucking-standing.

hilarious that people cry and lash out for satya simply discussing a very plainly obvious hard truth.

Funny that you're crying about people crying and lashing out when nobody's doing that. We're just pointing out the dumbassery of the statement, given that Texas dominated the game statistically and that it went into overtime.
