And the football board rises to new lows of stupidity.

Some jackass was rooting for Quinn to blow out his knee on that 4th down conversion so Arch would start rest of season...

Great, don’t bring it here

One of the mods on the Florida On3 board said after yesterday, they believe there is 50+% chance Ffrench signs with the Gators.

Wasn't he there last week when we skull fucked them? I guess they're going all in with NIL now that they've committed to Sun Belt Billy.

Nahlin thinks Ffrench flips to Florida, FWIW.

Did he? Not exactly how I interpreted it but you are probably right that he wouldn’t be posting about it if they weren’t a real threat.

The talented receiver is on his official visit to Florida this weekend. He's also with his quarterback at Mandarin (Jacksonville, Fla), fellow four-star Tramell Jones. Like seemingly every other state of Florida player he's a recent FSU de-commit. Florida is almost certainly going to flip Jones. I'd RPM him to the Gators if I gave a s***.

The Gators are a genuine threat. Jacksonville to Gainesville is a short drive and in addition to very likely having Jones on the way the Gators have DJ Lagaway at QB. Lagway isn't exactly a magnetic personality but he's a good dude and serious talent.

We've often compared Ffrench's recruitment to Ryan "Sleepy Ry" Wingo. That recruitment had a very aggressive instate threat Texas had to overcome.

Ffrench is still on his OV to Florida. It's set to end around 1:00 today.

I promised you guys flips. Ha ha ha ha

Comparing Ffrench to Wingo seems to imply he sticks with Texas.

Texas tight end commit Nick Townsend reportedly visited Texas A&M on Saturday night, according to GigEm247. The Aggies have invited the Spring (Texas) Dekaney product to both the Notre Dame and LSU games this season, but he didn't make either of those trips. He was last at Texas for the Georgia game and plans to be in Austin for the Kentucky game next weekend.

"Pretty good. Everything's smooth," Townsend told Horns247 on Sunday morning of where things stand with Texas. "Feels like a family down there."

UT tight ends coach Jeff Banks has spearheaded the efforts for Townsend on the Texas end.

"I still talk to Coach Banks a lot," Townsend said. "Nothing's really changed. It's the same."

How would the UT pledge describe his commitment status?

"Shoot, I'm 100 percent committed," he replied.

What keeps Townsend happy with the Longhorns?

"Just Sark being the mastermind," Townsend said. "He basically runs the same offense I run at my school. Two tight ends on the field. He uses the tight ends a lot."

On top of Texas next weekend, Townsend says he's going to try to make the Texas-Texas A&M game in College Station.

"I'm going to see if I can make something work," he said. "They're most definitely trying to get me still."

Kind of. I initially read the RPM part about Jones as Ffrench.

While Texas was in Fayetteville securing its ninth win of the season on Saturday, five-star Longhorns wide receiver commit Jaime Ffrench was on an official visit to Florida. The Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin product told Horns247 last week he planned to get to Gainesville and quickly set things up with UF this weekend for their big win over LSU.

"It went well," Ffrench told Swamp247's Blake Alderman as he left the UF facilities on Sunday. "I really enjoyed it. Got to see a lot of stuff again with Coach Billy (Napier) and my guys (like) Vernell (Brown III)."

Ffrench said the Gators staff has stayed after him since his public commitment to Texas on Aug. 30.

"They never stopped from the get-go," he said. "So just hearing he has another year, I'm like ok, I can really see myself into it."

The Gators have a shot with the five-star UT pledge, he says, and it starts with who UF has under center.

"DJ Lagway," he said of why UF is in the mix. "The coaching staff, with them having another year, everything makes sense."

But Ffrench leaves Florida still pledged to Texas.

"I'm locked with Texas," he said. "I really like Texas. I'm just rechecking things with the local schools. I feel like it's a need for sure."

Ffrench described UF's chances as "somewhat of a chance" as he reevaluates things with his family.

As for when a final decision has already been made, Ffrench pointed back to the commitment he's already announced.

"I'd say I'm locked right now with Texas," he said. "Just going to reevaluate things with my family. As of right now I'm locked with my family and Texas."

What would go into Florida changing his mind?

"Definitely the coaching staff for sure. I'll just watch everything and see how it plays out the rest of the season," he said. "Watch Texas, watch Florida. Definitely with my team Texas for sure. I'm locked in there. Just going to reevaluate things."

Ffrench did add that proximity to home is not a factor for him.
