GameDay went in on Lane and Ole Miss for faking injuries. ESPN seems opposed. It seems to be a SEC thing. You don’t see it much in Big Ten games. Does ESPN have enough influence to change the rule? Maybe, but it might not be on FOX’s radar.

Just more dead air time for the broadcaster to sell commercials.

I was annoyed we would line up immediately after those first two injury delays.  Huddle up and slow down.  We could have burned an extra minute of game clock.  After the first two we slowed it down.

It’s not about strategic advantage to slow us down. It’s about giving them more breaks because they were getting their ass whooped and needed them

They also had no timeouts, or few.

How about Kenny Baker getting some love for the development of Broughton. I  think he just played the best game of his life and two years ago I wondered if he would eventually transfer. He totally dominated and I think he was the best player on defense last night. He straight murdered the interior of the A&M line. Fucking awesome. It gives me hope that he can turn Mitchell into a monster eventually.
This guy? Hard not to trust Kenny Baker. 289a896327428806f4fcb272e24db092.gif

A&M has shown all year they’re disorganized pre snap defensively. So I see the strategy of trying to catch them out of alignment. It got them as well when they ran a 12th defender on the field late.

That one was interesting because we substituted. Usually it feels like the ref gives too much time, or at least all that they need, for the defense to match, but this time as soon as the aggy dl got near the ball, it was put in play and he was stuck.

I saw that also, but it seemed like the ref saw that none of the aggy D weren't trying to get off the field and said ok, start the play.

I’m still unsure why he ran on the field so late. But it got us a first down.

Probably gamesmanship and play clock burning.  But the ref said nope for some reason in this instance.

Did they even sub in? It looked line a defender ran on the field, got waved off, and went back to the sideline. Do you get time if you don't actually change players?

Yes, that is what happened. Didn’t sub.

He panicked when they went ready for play and tried to run off instead of sending someone else off.  That part was very funny.  He was basically on the ball and thought he might be able to make it to the sideline while our entire team just watches I guess.

Banks has been listed as the primary or secondary recruiter for almost every elite prospect on the roster. Banks, Campbell, Muhammad, Hill, Simmons, Johntay. This year, his only listed (imperative word) primary commit is Townsend, Charles secondary

Is he still the big game hunter? 247 getting lazy on tagging?

It happened to Wisner last night. Twice. Now go call him a pussy. We won and kicked their ass in the process. Stop being a bitch.

Did I miss Wisner writhing on the ground until the trainers came out, then gingerly walking to the bench, to only be back in the game a play later like nothing happened?

He’s second in command in recruiting behind Sark

Broughton was legit hit in the nuts and stayed in to help make the goalline stand.

That was nice to see. The Cold War battles won. Broughton, t.smith, hill playing well and they just had Anderson (not a good game) and bussey ( he’s not bad) on the other side.

Gird Up Your Loins: Sunday recruiting update

OnTexasFootball provides the latest intel on a number of targets.

Defensive line ...

Texas has had quality phone calls with Myron Charlesand family in the last 24 hours. My gut being around this recruitment with two stops at Port Charlotte High during the process is that Myron prefers Texas. Myron texted the staff before and after the game Saturday night, while being in Tallahassee. These are rough and tumble battles late pulling on family members from the in-state and closer to home schools. Florida is pressing as hard as they possibly can.

Justus Terry is not likely to announce on December 4, but Friday the 6th. Texas continues to plug away with the understanding that a family member may just want closer to home at the end of the day - driving distance to Georgia, Auburn or Alabama. But there is another family member that is open to Justus at Texas. Texas is all in here.

There isn't a lot of confidence with Auburn 4-star++ DL commit Nathaniel Marshall (Oak Park, Il./Fenwick). The communication is ongoing, but it remains an uphill battle. Texas would have to overcome Auburn's long standing relationship with Marshall's mom (think in terms Brandon Brown's mom and Bo Davis). But Texas will plug away.

Texas feels good about Joseph Mbatchou, with the understanding that Florida will give it one more swing.

One final note, OTF was told that LSU 4-star commitment Zion Williams (Lufkin, Texas/High) sent Texas a congrats text after the game. Williams was a guest of Texas A&M Saturday night. For the recruiting is funny portion of the update.

Javion Hilson ...

Hilson and Texas have been in contact in the last 24 hours. Multiple times. Texas is staying in the fight against Texas A&M. All things equal, I believe Hilson prefers Texas ... but I've been wrong plenty in this business before. And that doesn't mean I believe he will pick Texas. Those on the 40 Acres are recruiting like they are behind right now.

Michael Fasusi...

Nothing new as of 11am Sunday with Oklahoma 5-star OT commit Michael Fasusi.

Wiley and Terry...

No change with either. Texas solidly leads.

previous page.

maybe theres a newer one.

Elko did a terrible job at clock and time out management. I seem to recall we had a corch like that. Long ago.

This is from a 247 post, but it was saying Wiltfong believes Texas doesn't lose any commits on signing day.

How far we've come from Breckyn Hager overshooting the play by 5 yards every down.

That was some of the most infuriating shit. Every casual fan in the stadium could see that he kept over-running the plays. One five minute conversation with a competent defensive coach would have stopped that shit immediately.

You'd have to be crazy to have a spot at Texas and then switch. Sark is building a monster.

Five players drafted two years ago.

Eleven last year.

I've seen projections of up to 13 this year.

Of the top ten teams in the 247 2025 class rankings, Oregon and Michigan have the fewest commits right now.

Gotta think Oregon at the least, must be sitting on a few silent commits/flips and are prepared to move up in the rankings?

They currently have 16 commits to Texas' 24 commits.
So, for fun I used the calculator to add eight random "90" rated 4-star commits to their class and it put them at 297, in 5th place for team rankings.
