I just ordered some from, no shit, Morning Wood in South Austin. It took the guy a couple more days than he said it would but he was good at communicating his delays to me and always responded quickly. He’s just really busy.  Nice guy though.
I got 1/2 a face cord and it’ll probably last me all winter but I’ll  order from him again next year.

I don’t remember the price but it was less than the other guy Yelp suggested.

what do you tip a wood guy?

Delivery and stacking was included in the price.  Didn't even occur to me to tip a guy for doing the work he said he'd do at the agreed price.

It's always best to wait till the week before the first big cold snap.

sunday it's going to be like 50 degrees.

what about the day before instead, I mean weather can always change.  demand same day delivery too?

I’ve had success with Craigslist.  Actually, I bought an entire cord last year for deer camp for like $100 loaded.  It was way better than spending one of my few days down there cutting up wood.

Whatever you wind up paying for a cord, it’s worth it. I always hated cutting firewood.

Yeah, some minds were changed that day. I get it, it’s fun to get out a few times a year and use the chainsaw.  But if I’m getting ~20 days a year down there, fuck spending it standing in a pile of rattlesnakes trying to cut some firewood.   $100, firewood for better part of an entire season, no brainer.
