I think I got most of that through teh aids.  I was planning on buying the vanguard-specific rings from Talley.  Are you saying don't do that?

Those rings are probably fine.  If you’re going to pre-buy then buy low and medium.  I am hoping you can get by with low on that -42 scope, but it may need medium.  Return what you don’t use. The worst is getting there and your shit won’t work.

I’ll take a look when I get home but I’ll see how much clearance I’ve got on my tally lows on a 257 vanguard. Only a 40 on it but iirc there’s plenty of clearance for a 42.

Well, apparently I changed my password but not in tapatalk. I’m trying to figure that but @Lazarus Bocanegra you have plenty of room with lows.  I’ve always done exactly what @Handcrusersaid though, buy both and run with the one you like. For me, it’s always lowest available.   I’ve been very happy with the Talley 2 piece and run them on several rifles.  In fact if I can get this pic to post, you’ll see I’m way underscoped for this rifle, but this combo has been printing clovers for a decade plus now and every time I buy nice glass, I talk myself into a different rifle to put it on.  One of these days I’ll treat this one to some fancy glass but it’s been rock steady since the day I mounted it, in low Talley rings.

What should I be paying for a Glock 43x?

Lemme know what you end up paying. I have a 43 that mostly carry aiwb year round (sometimes a 17) but I have it from before they came out either model.

Edit: nm, I was thinking of the 48

Found a Winchester 101 20 gauge today in a pawn shop. Gun is in fantastic condition, love these old wood classics. Has the old style chokes that are made in the barrel. This particular gun is IC over moderate, which is perfect for me.

Question, if I may ask:

My package arrived at the Guns Warehouse in Cedar Park about 3pm today (Thursday).
Usually how many days does it take to call the customer for the FFL transfer after they get that day’s shipment logged in?
This is my first time doing a transfer at that location.

so I was just in FL visiting the SIL and doing some boating.   SIL's ex husband recently passed.  They were still close, and she ran the office for his law practice, and is executor of his estate.

She doesn't like guns at all.  He had an old JC Higgins .22, model 103.13.  It's pretty rough from the Miami humidity.  Anyway, she gave it to me.   I look forward to cleaning it up and shooting it.

Never seen one of these before, but I can see where they could be useful.

My door neighbor brags about his big bore air rifles. But he has them because he's a convicted felon and can't own firearms. He has to has a special compressor and it takes time to charge them. Unless you can pump them up and they'll hold pressure indefinitely, I can't see any advantage to these over any normal firearm. Unless of course, you're a convicted felon.

You wanna go down a DEEP rabbit hole on YouTube, UK rodent eradication with thermals and repeating air rifles.  They merc hundreds on a nightly basis.

As for that gun, I'd say it's better than a frying pan, but only two shots?????

Bear spray should be more practical to use against a home intruder.

Problem is you're inside with it.  That shit is debilitating.  I know some people have advocated for that extended range wasp spray, but it was blind people, so you better have your story straight.  I'd just get a big dog.  Unless you are being specifically targeted, nobody is breaking into a random house with a big, barking dog on the other side of the door.

Quicker than you think…..probably less than a second.

The last time I fired this Tower .69 caliber repro inthe mid 1960s, it cracked the stock, broke the mainspring, and knocked me on my butt (from a squatting position).

Yes….. $19.95 at Chuck’s Gun Shop in 1964 on Interregional Highway (I-35) opposite Concordia College.
I deliberately wiped my saliva all over the lock & barrel to give it an “aged” patina.
