If my TSLA shorts come in, I'm buying a high-end .45.  Like way high end.  What brand/model do I want?  Wish Staccato made a .45.

Also.  How does one purchase TSLA shorts?

Like way high end?

Double Stack

Chambers, Charyn, Mercier, Atlas, Hayes, Accuracy X and Infinity.  Hard to get double stack high end .45

Single stack old school .45

Jason Burton, Ted Yost, Chuck Rogers, Stan Chen(never heard of one changing hands), Volkmann, Cabot

Where do we start - you have the main players:  Wilson, Nighthawk, Les Baer, Dan Wesson, and Ed Brown.  Those are all 1911's.  These are generational pistols if you take care of them.  More accurate than they need to be and milled to exacting specifications (so keep them clean).

HK 23 is a high-end "tactical" option that you can suppress.  CZ Shadow is super clean and of course you have all the crazy modified polymer aftermarket options like Glock.

If I was shopping for one, I have this love affair with the Dan Wesson bobtail with the 4.5 inch barrel.

If you want super high end, check out Cabot. Their stuff is incredible. And they are really good guys.

Heard nothing but good things.  Such a pistol would be so wasted on my "meh" accuracy with a pistol.  Even my Sig 1911 is more accurate than I am.....;)

Most quality firearms are more accurate than even very good shooters. America makes really good guns now. The fit and finish on Cabot guns is beyond anything I have ever seen in a firearm. Certainly in a handgun. You might get close on the absolute finest double barreled shotguns.

Texas gun company goes bankrupt two years after launch as firearm users bemoan 'gunfluencers'

A gun manufacturer, known for its high-end rifles and military-style firearms, has filed for bankruptcy.

Just over two years since its launch, Watchtower Firearms, the Texas-based manufacturer, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy at the end of last month.

Watchtower, which set up shop in 2022, made a name for itself by catering to civilian, military, and law enforcement markets.

Last year, it acquired another manufacturer, F-1 Firearms, as it attempted to expand.

Watchtower, led by former Raytheon executives and veterans, blitzed through influencer deals to raise brand awareness.

Social media ambassadors included artists, competitive shooters, and content creators like Nick 'Pew View' Johnson and former Arizona Republican Senate candidate Mark Lamb.

But the acquisition of the headline-grabbing company couldn't keep Watchtower's finances afloat.

They can "blame" whomever they want, but at that price-point, there's not a huge client base that can afford their products.  If you want to operate on that space, you'd better be dialed in.  Trying to astro-turf a client basis isn't going to work when there are so many competing companies that make a very similar product.

There is a huge demand in this segment. Production, we estimate, is 50% of the top and demand and growing.

Watchtower fucked this all up. Litigation everywhere and financial suicide internally.

We’ve been waiting on this. Battlehawk purchased most of their inventory/parts this morning. So check their site over the next week for goodies.

For sure, it's a segment of the industry growing rapidly; which to your point, you better have your shit dialed in.

Yeah and they didn’t lol. I mean that dude fucked it up in every possible way. Just egregious. F1 owners sued him a few months ago it was so bad.

But, they’re out of my way. So good for me.

I remember this type of foolishness back in the dot.com days - every swinging deek with a website through they could just print money, and forget that a business is still a business

Staccato is in the middle of some stupid shit and poor decision making. But their owner is a brazillionaire so he’ll bail them out.

I don't think we're anywhere near market saturation, but demand is sky-high and it seems many of these companies are playing fast and loose.  What's Staccato doing now?

Putting unqualified people in key roles because they’re gun people and the owner likes them. After Nate left last year there was a bit of a power vacuum. Shit it was actually a coup really. Painful to watch unfold really.

Anyway - lots of new players coming on the scene. We’re actually incubating a lot of these smaller companies, keeping them focused on building guns and not buying boats. So far so good.

We’re the only ones doing this in the entire 2011 space - super cool.

Are you seeing any issues with Staccato quality, or is this just operational issues?  I'm in the market in a couple of months and don't want to step into a hornets nest...should I look at older production?

No - not that I know of. They’re actuallly below industry average. What model are you looking at?

Current thinking is either the HD 4.5 when its out or the P / DLC-Comp.  I'm committed to playing, just not sure which hand to bet yet.

Understood.

If you want to discuss PM me.

There is also something else about to enter the market that’s pretty rad. I’ll have those out in 90 days.

Look at atlas silver pvd too. So dope.

I was in a Walmart yesterday and the location had ammo.   It still cracks me up that they sell 30-06 and .308 but not .223/5.56.  I can buy ammo for a BAR or an AR-10 but not an AR-15.

Well an ar-10 is 5 less than an ar-15 so yeah
