Yeah, I found it somewhere a long time ago and thought it was funny so I used it.

Reminds me of the time my dad asked my then 14 year old nephew if he wanted to visit the ranch for a week so he could ride horses and shoot guns and my nephew started talking about his pet Sugar Glider and a Bible Study group. lulz

The both sides bullshit is bullshit.

The Republican Party is orders of magnitude worse for America than the Democratic Party.

Eh this depends. Are we talking about the America that can handle the absolute simplest of shit like paying off their college, having insurance, and taking an extra 10 mins to find a place to vote?  Or we talking about the America who can’t function without the government wiping their ass for them?

Join me as a one issue voter: I vote against the party that supports those things. All the time, every time. If that party ever decides to declare treason off limits again, then we can start talking about other policies. Until then, I’m sticking with my rule of “always take care of the existential threat first.”

I can’t blame you for that. I’ll continue to withhold my vote completely until they fix that. But I can’t bring myself to facilitate in any fashion the progressives view for the country.

My apologies. What I meant was, "That's some damn fine shit posting."

Yep, dozens of Republican led states passed hundreds of voting laws on the backs of the "loss of trust in our elections" that their lies alone created just to improve voting integrity. No other motive whatsoever. Totally a coincidence that 10 minutes in one neighborhood could be 3 hours in certain other neighborhoods.

Again, ask yourself why supporting and expanding voting rights used to be a bipartisan issue and why it isn't today.

Good, you don't support them; you'll just continue to waste your vote voting for independents because god forbid a liberal wins with a crazy idea like poor people getting proper healthcare or that a 22 year old shouldn't start out their careers $100k in debt. The humanity. I can really see the dilemma.

The dilemma is simple. That has to be paid for. I’ve been there and done that a few times, and have been putting it away for three more go rounds. Somehow I was able to afford daycare too, privilege I guess.  I’m not certain people who can’t comprehend what it takes to pay a loan back with your expected earnings post graduation are college material. That’s some pretty simple math.

Also, you are chalking too much up to luck. If you feel like you’ve contributed nothing to where you are, ok, but I’d bet that isn’t the case.  I don’t fault people for voting in their best interest. If we have that many can’t get right folks out there, well I assume D’s will be able to buy their votes for a good long while. I'm not saying I'm 100% on board with total loan forgiveness or even universal healthcare. I'm not. But policy disagreements like that are why you'll never vote for a "progressive" while the GOP is pulling the shit they're doing? I mean, come the fuck on.

I would never consider myself a liberal until pretty recently. A lot of ideas from the Democratic party are pretty far out there. But at least they actually pretend to occasionally want to help people. Right now, I'll take that over the GOP's self-fellating mission statement:

"I've achieved what I have solely because of my hard work and intellect. Poor people are just lazy. Tax dollars only go to pay their welfare checks. Damn, we keep losing popular elections; let's make it harder for people to vote. No, I'm not racist, you're racist. Oh, and let's continue to prop up bullshit culture wars with lies and hate and obsess over the Clinton's for another 4 decades. The end."

No doubt. My hard work and intellect (yeah, yeah, fuck you) definitely contributed. It wasn't handed to me. What I'm saying is that I can say quite confidently that I wouldn't be where I am with the same work ethic and intellect if I was born into poverty or went to some shittastic public schools in West Virginia or what have you.

Ok, you're somewhere between 0 and 100% for it, I'm not.  That's but two examples of policy that I don't agree with the progressives about. I feed my family with money earned in O&G.  I hunt and shoot skeet tournaments for fun.  I run cows and actually need a diesel truck.  Basically, someone the progressive party would delete completely if possible.  It's not in my best interest in any fucking metric to vote for them.

I will say, the shift of poor, uneducated, and blue collar voters to the Republican party is one of the greatest sales jobs of all time. The GOP openly and proudly doesn't give a fuck about their lot in life and will make no efforts to improve it. But mention guns, America, socialism, and owning liberals enough, and you can convince millions to vote against their own interests.

My taxes go up when R's are in.  Of course I'm making a fuck load more money when I'm laying pipe in the ground so naturally, more paying in.  It's a lot better knowing you have a backlog of them that are going to go, vs what you get with the D's though.

I'd argue that the three tenets of a successful society are quality housing, education, and healthcare. In the past couple of decades, we've managed to make those things virtually unobtainable for tens of millions of our citizens, and the costs only continue to skyrocket way beyond the rate of inflation. I'm lucky enough to not be in that group due to a variety of things--family I was born into, good public schools, skin tone, etc.--but how big of a piece of shit would I have to be to consider everyone not as fortunate "unable to function without the government wiping their ass."

Sorry, but this is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read on this site and that is saying something.  You may be a great person but you have been really misguided on the things you believe.  I am guessing it was done by right wing media so kudos to them I guess for doing exactly what their goals are.  So Dems don’t like skeet shooting tournaments and hunting?  Not true.  Actually there may be more Dems that hunt than R’s.  You need a diesel truck to run cows?  Maybe now but in the future that will be an electric truck made by Ford, GMC, Dodge, Chevy, etc… and it will be just fine.   This sounds like someone in 1900 bitching about those new fangled cars and how you just need your horse and buggy to get your goods to market.  I get your job in O&G maybe aligns more with the Republican Party since they are in the pocket of O&G more than the Dems (the Dems are getting funds from them also so it’s not just the R’s) so that may be the one legitimate reason you have posted on why you would vote R.

As far as some of your other comments about you don’t need a free phone.  Please show me where people got free phones?  Some dumb ass was filmed saying that she wanted her free phone when Obama got elected so now that is a legitimate truth of what the Dems promised?  So if someone goes on TV tomorrow and says I vote for Republicans because they will make rape legal then we can all start saying the Republicans are for legal rape?  That was probably a bad example but hopefully you get my point. Broadband internet improvements helps Republicans mostly in rural areas more than Dems but that, healthcare and infrastructure are what government is supposed to do.  Government should help the people of this country be safe and make their lives better and more productive so it helps society as a whole.  I don’t agree with everything the Dems stand for.  I am in the healthcare/insurance business and universal healthcare may hurt me personally but it may be what’s best for the people of this country so I am fine if it happens.

Now that I think about what you wrote you sound like a very selfish person so maybe you fit better in the Republican Party anyways.

I take it that you understand that not everyone can get an engineering degree, including, apparently, you.

If society is indeed a bell curve, then 50% of people are below average. A full third of them substantially so.  Our society is becoming increasingly economically stratified, so that the lower rungs get less and less and worse and worse opportunity.

What do we do with them? Just let them die in the street?
