This is a safe space. Grieve, snow flake. We will give you reenforcing finger snaps to boost your fragile psych during these dark times.

Quite literally the two stupidest responses he could have made to those two posts.  Never underestimate the disconnect from reality among the American right wing.

Congrats on having the baristas with multiple worthless degrees and $200k in student loans in yours.  Because those are the smart ones.

Stop watching Fox News. Please, just stop. None of this is reality.

Hows your grocery bill?  Fucking dipshit.

I'm pretty pissed at the USDoG about the way things are going.  They keep jacking up prices every fucking week.  Tomatoes, sugar, taco shells, pinto beans, caviar, doesnt' matter.  I can hardly believe the Senate approved Biden's nominee to head the department.  Look what he's done; it's a fucking disaster.

Spoiler

You know what "USDoG" stands for, right?

Spoiler

United States Department of Groceries

While the average amount of outstanding student loan debt is $37,102 (Chamber of Commerce statistics), it is true there are Americans with $200,000 or higher--about a half a million of them. There are about 22,842 coffee and snack shops in the United States--Starbucks has around 13,000 alone with Dunkin' coming in second at around 8000 (B2 publication). These types of businesses employee around 535,000 people coast to coast. While there may be employees in any industry with outstanding student loans, it seems unlikely that most of them are making lattes. Especially since around 60% of the debt holders are over the age of 30 (again CoC). However, women ( pay differentials, pregnancy, and caregiving responsibilities) are more likely to leave school early which triggers the clock on payment and also can lead to default.

The state of California average for graduate's student loan debt is about $22,000 a number which is matched by the state of Wyoming's average. The unemployment rate in California was 4.7% in 2017 and is currently 4.9%. In Wyoming the unemployment rate in 2017 was 4.8% and now stands at 3.7%.

I rate the barista claim regarding 'worthless degrees' etc as misleading.

The position of coffee shop attendant is frequently used as a stopgap while seeking employment on other career paths.

Spoiler

Demographics of coffee shop employees:

Some numbers are rounded and do not equal 100%

Average Age: 24. Over one half of coffee shop employees are under age 30.

Gender: Female 72% Male 28%

White: 62% Hispanic or Latino: 17% Black: 10% Asian: 6%

High School Diploma: 42% Associate: 13% Bachelors 32%

Almost 40% of employees stay for less than one year.

Edit--and that is a derail so I won't respond to that any further in the Joe Biden thread.

No it’s pretty spot on. First vaccine shots administered in mid December 2020 after the election. Lame ducks typically use this time to help transition instead of foment doubt in the hopes of overturning an election. It was the first time there was not a peaceful transition of power.

You think it has changed much since then?  I am thinking due to increased child tax credits it's probably more pronounced.  We do know the percentage of individuals who pay federal income tax had decreased significantly.  It has gone from what, 47% to 61%?

You are being disingenuous as fuck

Quote

We document the cumulative effect of four decades of income growth below the growth of per capita gross national income and estimate that aggregate income for the population below the 90th percentile over this time period would have been $2.5 trillion (67 percent) higher in 2018 had income growth since 1975 remained as equitable as it was in the first two post-War decades. From 1975 to 2018, the difference between the aggregate taxable income for those below the 90th percentile and the equitable growth counterfactual totals $47 trillion.

Y’all have an independent trust manager? And you have no use of any property in the trust?

@Johnny Sack no comment? How much is in granddad’s “trust?” Even 1% a year to manage probably not chicken scratch. What do you have access to for fun besides the south Texas ranch?

Yep. The inability to get rid of student loan debt through bankruptcy is some major bullshit.

Not just liberal but mouth breathers calling him a socialist or even a communist.

FANTASTIC criticism of Biden. I’m dead serious. The “Bankruptcy Reform” act was a shitty, shitty law. I have a cousin who worked closely with Senator Biden at that time (on unrelated issues) and I unloaded on him. Told him what an utterly shitty law it was, and how I wish I could tell Biden that to his face, and what explanation does he have for that bullshit? Cousin was sheepish “yeah…that wasn’t a good one.”
But….know why it passed? Joe was just one vote. It passed because of overwhelming GOP support for it. One of the worst pieces of legislation in the past quarter century, and your boys couldn’t vote for it fast enough.
