Aggy is hosting Fordham (NYC's NCAA team) this weekend.  Which is very aggy of them.

They obviously wanted no part of Houlihan Park, less than a mile from the Bronx Zoo:

Excuse me, Columbia is right there and actually in Manhattan. They took Miami to the last game of a relatively recent Coral Gables Regional.

Took the series against Vandy. 7-5 won today, awesome!

Which is remarkable because, after the first game where we struck out something like 18-times…I figured situational and 2-out hitting was going to elude us again as we lived/died by HRs.  But against typically-elite Vandy pitching in games 2/3 we were actually able to string some action together.

Was following the game on OP yesterday (I have ESPN+ but can’t stand those two whistling asshats), and when we gave up 2 runs in B8 to tie it I took a nap figuring it was over.  Pleasantly amazed we got those runs back T9.

Good way to start the year.  It’s criminal baseball isn’t on tv more…I catch way more horns due to LHN than anyone else (impressive weekend for y’all, btw).

On a side note, if any of y’all think us osu fans are diehard pessimists…just follow a game thread on OrangePower and you’ll see we aren’t alone.

Terps got salty when we kicked their asses 3 out of 4 (?) In Austin a few years ago. They've actually had a decent program for a while, but I think they always ran into UVA in the postseason in the Cavs best years .

Big 10 Baseball power!

As stated by @zlavydra,   Maryland is solid.    Won over 35 games last year,  lost to ECarolina in Regional Final.    Up and coming young Coach Rob Vaughn from Humble, played at KSt.

The sweep does mean Baylor has problems.   Need the B12 to be strong for conference RPI purposes.

Posted (edited)

Our RPI will be just fine if we TCB against the blue bloods on our schedule.

Given the small sample size so far, I’m leaning toward optimism on that issue.

Anyone here actually pay for D1?  Curious if the content is worth it for a few months during the season.

Negative here.

I've thought about it a few times, but they do provide a fair amount of free content, plus both Kendall Rogers and Aaron Fitt are pretty active on Twitter discussing their views. Fitt tweeted a ton about the OSU-Vandy series.

Don't subscribe.   $14.99 per month, $129 annual.      Steep, imo.    May want to try a month,  I never have subscribed.    Sometimes searching other team's boards will provide info including D1 info.

They do seem to have good content from A-Z including coaching changes, injuries, predictions, players to watch, etc.    I especially enjoyed the Monday Chat which was free but no more.   In their defense,  Baseball America and other sites are the same though lower priced ($7.50)   Baseball America also covers MLB and not totally dedicated to college like D1 and at times has limited free content.    Coverage doesn't seem as in-depth for college.

Yeah that's pretty pricy.

I mean The Athletic is like $8 a month for extensive coverage of NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, College football, college basketball, etc.

If they bumped theirs down to like $5 a month I'd probably jump on it.

Fuck yeah. Good first step to shutting the VANDYBOYS up.

Baylor gets swept by Maryland?

Ouch.

Ha fuck em. That’s gonna be an easy sweep and tune up for okie lite the next week. The okie lite games better be sellouts with a regional type atmosphere. That series will probably determine the conference champion

Back when the shit talking was real...

I wish I could find a recording of the first game against you guys in that series. 'HE STRUCK HIM OUT! HOLY COW!' from Mike Patrick was a great moment in Kieschnick history. It looked like we were going to redeem ourselves after Pepperdine in 1992 then disaster struck against Wichita State in game 2. Then this happened against Oklahoma State. And then we would not be back to the CWS until 2000.

OK State and SHSU were tied at 1 after 9, but SHSU scored 5 in the top of the 10th.  Up 6-1 bottom of the 10th.

Being a casual baseball fan for osu is so frustrating.  Every year our bats suck until late in the season (usually) and we piss away midweek games.  Down 4-1 ASU with hits something like 11-4 in the 7th.

#4 is too high for right now.

Nice reverse jinx.  Okie State wins it with 4 in the 8th and 2 in the 9th.  Looks like y'all play Arizona St again tomorrow too.

Just came here to post exactly that.  Hate this cardiac Cowboys the past few games, but I’ll take it.  Holliday teams tend to be maddening for midweek and non con, but let’s the team grow and it’s often paid dividends late in conference and post season.

Capitalized on ASUs mistakes there but almost gave it back hitting a batter on an 0-2 count with two gone.  Insane.

Baylor @ Rice should be interesting. Baylor got shelled by Maryland, but recovered ok in the series against Duke. Rice's record isn't good, but that's after getting swept by us and losing a well fought series against Lamar. Since playing the horns, Rice has put up a good number of runs, at least 6 in each game. I'll be interested to see how their bats do against Big 12 pitching that isn't ours.

Another come from behind win to beat ASU 11-6. Took both midweek games. We need to improve though to maintain a top 10 ranking.

Nice couple of wins in the desert.

Should be a fun series against Gonzaga this weekend at O'Brate.

Your RPI will be off the charts !    Vandy, ASU, Gonzaga,  even Wright St normally has a respectable program.  You may be aware,  Gonzaga just swept Fullerton this past weekend.

I really like Josh Holiday.
