Well.   We got our asses kicked last night by Boerne.  They are legit for sure with a massive Oline.      But the burgers at Chris Madrids live up to the hype, so that was a plus.

Heard some interesting backstory on how Boerne High has risen to the top and some in that community are not happy.

Meh. Champion raided the Boerne attendance zone for years now they want to cry when it happens to them.

The crap I heard is shady though.   In order to keep Boerne High in 4A,   Boerne High students who are taking classes at Champion  that are not offered  at High which is only a mile or so from High are being counted as Champion students.  If the attendance zones along were enforced, Boerne High would’ve been right  there in 5A D1 with Champion last realignment.

Chaps up 3-0 in first. Greathouse is dressed but I don’t think he has played yet. Thumb definitely bothering Land.

Blocked punt leads to TD. 17-0

Just made our 2nd INT. Brennan QB has 3 INTS for the season and we have 2 of them in the first half of this game.

I've said it all season. Guyer will take 6A D2, even if our Chaps had to play them. They are on a mission.

Final score Westlake 47-Brennan 7. @Helobious, you were right, Brennan has a really high-powered offense and moved the ball all game long. Problem was, when they got into scoring position, we baited their QB into 3 ints. We blocked a punt, and forced two turnovers on downs. They must have been shocked that they couldn't score, since they have so many talented offensive skill players and averaged 48 points per game. Our starting QB is still throwing picks, but our backup comes in and just wins. I think he's better.

And Lake Travis has its final revenge against our Chaps. Thanks to LT getting the home game last year in the state semi-final vs North Shore, we've got to now play North Shore in Houston at Rice Stadium. Bleh.

The game next week will be a blowout. North Shore can’t pass the ball at all, Westlake just has toload the box and it’s over. NS has a good defense that should frustrate the Chaps a lot but it should be a comfortable 35-7 or 28-0 type Westlake win.

Duncanville is up 28-21 on Westfield, 10m left in the 4th.   Westfield with the ball on their own 2.  That sounds bad, but they had a 90y run the last time they had the ball.

Y'all aren't going to believe this, but Duncanville is absolutely loaded with big fast guys who play incredibly stupid and undisciplined.

Westfield just jumped offsides to give D'ville a 1st down.

Under 2 minutes and WHS is out of TOs.

TD Duncanville and they'll win.  Whoops, it was called back by penalty.  Of course.

Lol, same play to the other side and another TD, and another flag.

And there's a first down, and it's over, unless Samples does anything besides Victory Formation.

Caden Durham has something like 222y and 4 TDs that counted.

Do what now?  North Shore has to be favored in this one.  Bigger, faster and Westlake doesn’t have Cade Klubnik and Michael Taafe this time.

There’s no way. Westlake has the longest winning streak in the country. North Shore is faster and more athletic but Westlake will have a size/strength advantage in the trenches on both sides of the ball. This isn’t 2018-19 North Shore. Add in NS lack of passing threat and I don’t see them matching up well.

He's another Westlake honk doing his own riff on the Treaty Oak bit.  Which is about as fresh as the South Austin's mom stale crust.

Even though he was a defender, Taffee came in to catch the long pass to put Westlake in position to beat North Shore in the semis two seasons ago. Then, in the state game vs Southlake, he intercepted two passes, and one of them was an incredible, one-handed affair that made ESPN's top 10 plays of the week. So yes, Taffee.

Neither team is "planet-killer" good this season. Westlake has lots of key injuries, but so does North Shore.

After the game today, the Westlake announcers were going over the stats of the Brennan QB and they are truly mind-blowing. He is finishing one of the greatest runs in Texas QB history (82 TD passes to 9 ints is insane) and they shut him down. Westlake picked him off 3 times. It will be a great game, for sure.

Helobious is hardly a Westlake honk.

54 game winning streak. 3 straight state championships. Sure beats being a Longhorn fan.

Yeah Dubose was very good but feasted on weak SA competition. The 2 best teams he faced this year were Steele & Westlake and the results were not great. And that was actually the case anytime he played a good team throughout his career. NS’s QB can’t pass at all so I don’t know that you can count on so many turnovers next week.

I will say North Shore is a lot more battle-tested than Westlake. Should still be an easy Chap W but I think the Mustangs can hang around for a half before Westlake’s size advantage kicks in. And while NS is slightly faster the speed difference isn’t that extreme.

Here's that Taaffe interception...

North shore plays disinterested, then turns it on when needed. They are are one dimensional, but they are pretty good at that. They crushed Atascocita, who they escaped earlier in the season. They beat Westlake next week.

Its kinda disappointing the Globe Life/Choctaw/Texas Live entertainment area hasnt really hosted any all day tripleheaders this year. Last year saw Lee-Carroll and they had some kind of carnival outside with a ton of kids which was awesome for the nephews. Some good local games being played at spare high school stadiums
