The hour long game of Texas Hold 'Em in the middle just kills the pacing for me.

WTF?  That whole middle sequence of the movie is awesomely paced, a little bit of game action, a little bit of Bond killing African mercenaries, a little bit of game action, a little bit of Bond getting poisoned, finish game action....not to mention Bond getting knocked out initially and the swirl around Felix helping him buy back in.

Like the 10th trailer.  This one looks real good.  I have hopes.

I'm excited but I'm worried about how busy it looks. Hopefully they keep it somewhat smart and tie everything together well. Dumbed-down audience-service Bond is not the Bond I want.

Yeah, but the final hand when Le Chiffre got all cocky and wouldn't quit talking shit while splashing the pot before Bond flopped a nut straight, leading Le Chiffre to tell his henchman to "pay that man his money" because he beat him straight up, that was a great payoff.

No love for From Russia With Love?

Eva Green in that dress doesn't work for you?

Consensual sexual relations with her would be enjoyable. I know this is a "hot take", but I'm just going to speak my truth as I see it. You can disagree with me, but it's how I feel. Please respect my choices.

With all these trailers I feel like I’ve seen the whole movie. The one thing I have been disappointed in with Craig’s Bond movies are the theme songs. They all sound the same and depressing. This Billie Eilish song makes me want to kill myself. I want Thunderball, Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die type songs. Enough already.

This reminds me. Tomorrow Never Dies is an underrated Bond song.

Agree with all except Skyfall.  Skyfall is up there with the all time best Bond themes.

I can't even remember the Spectre theme. It was terrible and completely forgettable.

Just watched Being James Bond on apple+, about how they chose Daniel Craig and the making of all his Bond movies. Pretty good. It was interesting to see the behind the scenes of how they developed the scripts and all it took to make the movies. Craig really has done a great job as Bond when you look at them overall. He took them to the next level and had a lot of input in who they hired as director. I’m looking forward to seeing this new one.

Crow really killed that song, really brought back that Tom Jones feel.

Also, The World is Not Enough-underrated.

Also, as long as we are ranking: 1. Thunderball , 1a. Casino Royale (You Know My Name) .

I like the Bond themes with powerful vocals like above, seems to fit better than instrumentals or love songs.

From The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) all the way up to Goldeneye (1995), there were some real clunkers in there.

Made a whole buncha money last weekend, despite not opening in the US or China.  I've read all the reviews:

Spoiler

They say it's an OK movie but lacks for pace and uneven tone.  Malik is wasted but it has NONE of the wokeness we worried about.  I won't give away the ending, but it's...divisive.

It’s not good. A charitable view is that it has some decent action scenes that remind you of what Bond could be, but this story and plot are just dumb and unnecessary.

Biggest mistake was not keeping the Casino Royale team intact and writing a 3 movie arc from there. When look at the entire Craig catalogue you just see too many different visions in it.

Saw it last night. Thought it was entertaining but nothing exceptional compared to other Bond films. Most of all, it felt good to sit in a theatre and watch an anticipated new action film that doesn’t involve superheroes.

I enjoyed the typical Bond stuff - fancy Aston Martins cruising along a beautiful Mediterranean coastline, car and motorcycle chases through an Italian village, black tie dinner parties turned shootouts, etc. Ana de Armas looked fantastic in that black dress, even more so once she started shooting up bad guys.

I didn’t love the overall plot. Thought it was kind of boring and unoriginal. Didn’t like M’s role and thought Rami Malek’s villain was kind of meh. And the ending was….?

Saw it Wednesday in IMAX. Top 3 Craig Bond films for me.  Missed seeing a bad ass action movie in theaters.  Lots of good action sequences. Story was OK. Wanted to see more..

My girl Ana de Armas needed more screen time. She was great in her role. I never really liked the Madeline chic. But I guess she is settling down type material out of all Craig’s chics in these movies.

It’s no spoiler this is the last Craig/Bond film. Going to miss him, tough shoes to fill.

This exactly. It’s not very good. I kept thinking the whole time “Why didn’t they keep the Casino Royale team?”

It’s entirely possible that Fukunaga doesn’t know what he’s doing and got lucky with True Detective.

AdA does look spectacular. But she’s not around long.

It ranks between Spectre and QoS for me.

Wow. Just give away the whole movie why don't you?

That ties The Last Jedi as the worst franchise movie of all time. What a disastrous POS. It should forever be banned from the canon. It's Bond's Alan Smithee entry.

Agree on AdA. Remake with her as an actual Bond Girl. Burn this anathema.

Craig was a great Bond despite horrible material. Just kill the franchise if this is what it's going to be.

Movie just felt all over the place while trying to do too much.

Casino Royale was the perfect Bond movie.  They should have thrown the bank at everyone involved with it to stay on for all of Craig's films.

I'd rank Craig's films as

1. Casino Royale

2. Skyfall

3. Quantum of Solace

4. Spectre

.

.

.

.

.

.

5. No Time To Die

Spoiler

I don't even really have a problem with them doing unconventional, outside of the box things for James Bond like giving him a kid or killing him off for his final entry, they can and will always reboot, but at least make it entertaining and worthwhile.  The action was way overboard and it felt like 2+ hours of Bond shooting everything on screen with such little substance behind it all.

I liked it, and it's a great sendoff for Craig.  (If you haven't read the spoilers, DON'T.)  They let him have fun with the character.  Reminded my a lot of Logan in that regard.

They shoulda taken 30-45 min out of all the action sequences and given more time to the secondary characters.  Good chance this is their last Bond movie as well.

AdA is a handsome woman.  She also needed more time.

I agree with this. Glad I saw it, but if I was at home I probably would’ve hit fast forward through some of the story. Felt unnecessarily long

Wow some comparing it to worst Star Wars films? Lol. Star nerds will never be happy.

The movie definitely got a little away from the whole 007 spy stuff like past flicks, but he isn’t technically 007 in this film. And I was ok with that and most should already know this anyway.  This was about James Bond handling shit that is personal and closing out his character.  And he plays that angry Bond awesome.  Would rewatch for the action sequences and nostalgia.

maybe the reason why they held off to show it in theaters rather than streaming. I’m still going to see it but from most of the reviews here I’m going to be disappointed. Won’t matter, I’ve watched and owned every Bond movie, and read every Ian Fleming book, so I’m not missing this one.

Not what I expected.

Initial thought…this was my least favorite Craig film in the series and I’m somewhat pissed off because I waited so long to see it and was excited going in.

This is probably making me grade it a little harsher than I would have if I had seen it a year and a half ago when it was supposed to come out.  After all of the postponements and hype I think I built up the excitement in my head a little too much and it made the let down worse.
