Years ago our babysitter made pop tarts for the kids and forgot to check the toaster setting (it was on dark).  When the resulting flames appeared, she threw a cup of water on the toaster to try and put it out 😱.  Luckily the worst thing to come out of it was having to buy a new toaster.

Went on a few dates w a girl a UT that grew up probably having her parents do everything for her. She put pop tarts in a toaster w the wrapper still on.

Do your own research.

Well guess what, smart guy?  I did do my own research.  Turns our 'Mark Twain' wasn't even his real name.  What the hell else is Samuel lying about?  At this point, I'm starting to think Huck Finn wasn't even a real person.

Why is it a stigma in the US to eat at a restaurant by themselves?

When we were Japan, we saw plenty of men and women go to nice-ish restaurants and just enjoy the food without needing to talk to anyone.

One night, my daughter and I were craving katsu with curry, so we went to a restaurant with bar seating and plexiglass dividers between the seats. I’ve heard of them, but never actually seen it here in LA which has a pretty good Japanese population.

I've seen them here in the states(one restaurant I worked at used them between our booths when we were first opening back up during the pandemic) but not at the bar. We removed a few barstools and had people sit apart every 2 seats.

Speaking of LA, were you getting katsu and curry in Little Tokyo? So many great places.
