In laws had one up until about 10 years ago.  They also had one of those wooden box TVs that sat on the floor until about 15 years ago.  They were discussing where to put a new tv they were wanting to get, and I jokingly said to put it on top of the wooden box, and they did just that.  Pulled the old tube TV out of there and now that holds their VCR-DVD combo player.

Joy Division is my pet peeve.

"Look little girl, not only can you not name a single one of their songs, I could play you two full albums right this second and you'd hate every song".

My daughter picked up a Guns N Roses tshirt at the store and held it up and thought she would be cool in it. She doesn’t even know who they are.  I turned in to old grumpy man.

I remember when my sister made me listen to Joy Division when I was a kid because I liked her New Order album…

It was brutal, being 10ish in the mid 80s and having to listen to Transmission and unknown pleasures was not fun. It wouldn’t be until the late 80s early 90s when I came back around on them.

I was a Sparks kid, I liked their fun upbeat sounds vs Joy Division’s more depression filled post-punk synth sound

She's no longer a sweet child of yours.

House we lived in in the mid 70's had one of these.  I remember one year we got a couple of snow days off from school.  We had shitty brown cloth gloves to protect us from frost bite.  When our hands got too cold from the soggy gloves/socks also used for gloves (we were poor) we would got into the house and toss the gloves and socks on top of this bad boy and be ready to head back out in a few minutes.  Good Times.
