Holy shit this photo brought back memories of my time with the Lanier Vikings football team.

We used to have our pre-game meals at the Chariot Inn on I35 and St John’s.

That, uh meat, looks just like the dried up roast beef we used to get. We also got a baked potato…..DRY.

Coach Emerson would not let them serve us butter for some reason.

Many of us would bring our own butter from home but it could get messy.

Hard to believe that was over fifty years ago.

Close to the same at Tivy. We’d hop on the bus to Luby’s, and then get told what we were and weren’t allowed to order. At a fucking buffet! Facists.

Drove back from COS to ETX last week in my wife’s relatively new Kia Telluride. filled up in COS before departure, then in Amarillo.

6 miles to empty according to Kia.

Filled up with 16.8 gallons.

We have an 18.8 gallon tank. Meaning that we had about 46 miles to empty.

Kia is a liar.
