I wouldn't put it past a repo guy to wrap a chain around the axle and pull it out sideways. Especially if the current driver or car lot owner had pissed him off.

Couldn't you just bring a forklift and pull it out sideways, which is most likely the exact way they got it in there. That's if they are really serious about getting it from you.

One of my law school professors worked for a repo man when he was doing his undergrad at Oklahoma State. We loved his stories.

Picking up a car with a forklift can do some serious undercarriage damage. I heard a story of a salesman, who in the late 70's, made a sales call to at the GM plant in Arlington in something like a Volvo. He pissed some of the guys off and they moved his car out of the parking lot with a forklift. It screwed up brake lines, cables, exhaust etc.

My guess, if it's real, is they used some of those car dollies that you can put under the tires that allow you to move cars around the shop.

Plate of shrimp

"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness."
