Okay, now it's time to wish terrorism on Americans.
Listen to yourself.

I am. We want suffering and pain. We voted for it. We celebrate it when it’s visited on “the other.” We are incapable of understanding how stupid awful it is until the leopards start eating OUR faces.
Fine. I won’t root for the leopards to eat our faces.
Instead, I’ll root for us just marching towards our authoritarian future. Where - and I’ve got bad news for you - the leopards FEAST.
You can choose pain now, or you can choose unending pain later. Those are the options. They suck.

You just said, your children are no longer in America so it's okay to wish terrorism and death on America.

ok so British capabilities? when it comes to Europe defending Ukraine - intelligence is probably the number one weakness, as well as some advanced weaponry but I think the Brits have enough on the weapons side for Europe to do just fine. so how is their stand alone intelligence for Ukraine?

Electronically, GCHQ is probably the best in the world.  In no small part because they have never even pretended to respect civil rights.

looks like sheer ability to collect is limited - the other thread said US has 7 large surveillance planes, UK has 3. stuff like that. I'm betting Europe can step up to a degree, again I think it's the core of Europe putting troops on the ground and the French/UK nuclear deterrent that makes Ukraine de facto nuclear that shuts this down ... or more likely escalates it into a full scale European war.

there's probably still an outside chance of a resolution where Ukraine gives up mineral rights, gives up some territory but gets the security guarantees from Europe. but that requires Russia being willing to accept that.

He projecting some weird shit man. The terrorism index score in Germany is far higher than USA. In his sick mind, he wants to see that "corrected" by attacks against America because that would justify his politics.

Nope. Just answer this: what will motivate the American people to act to arrest our breakneck plunge into irrevocable authoritarianism?
Everyone with an IQ above 50 knows the answer is “sufficient pain.”
It doesn’t matter whether it’s terrorism (which, by the way, would almost certainly kill a fraction of a fraction of the number of people who will die in the coming months and years from unnecessary cancers, relaxed regulations allowing open poisoning and catastrophic safety failures, outbreaks of preventable diseases, suicides due to job loss and economic collapse, and the thousand other vectors of suffering that comes with Elon’s and Trump’s plans for us). The irony is that I’m hoping for LESS suffering, just sooner, in order to spur us to action. Trolley problem shit, but some of yall seem to still think that nobody getting hit by the trolley is still an option. It’s not. So…choose.

Also…THAT’S A BINGO.
The supreme leader of our country, answerable to and controlled by no one, literally said that. And you think I’m the one rooting for pain? JFC. I want us to do everything possible to stop the worst outcome.
Elon and Trump don’t give a shit that you’re wringing your hands over what I said. They’ll happily see you and yours at the bottom of a pile of bodies, and give negative shits about it. Wake up.

Dude has lost his mind. The topic of this thread is Ukraine. The reality is that American politicians and political scientists long predating Trump knew exactly what they were doing and predicted the outcomes. Biden laid it out in 2012 for christsake. The fucking architect of American Cold War strategy told everyone how it was going to play out. Numerous political scientists and commentary called out the play, and the inevitable outcomes. And here we fucking are. All that shit came to pass. You got brisket ranting about authoritarianism in the US, while we have funded and armed all the worst fucking things that he doesn't want to come back to home. Banning political opposition, stifling critical press, suppressing religious expression, cancelling elections. And that is just in the last few years in Ukraine. The absurdity of it all is just too much.

All those words and you still can't actually lay out a thesis to explain your fucking point. Plus, Ukraine didn't cancel their fucking elections you death panelist - their constitution does not allow for an election during a war and martial law.

European troops will be killing Russians and Norks by summer. Macron is not mincing words and he wouldn’t be saying what he is saying without having had private conversations with the other original NATO -US countries and their agreeing on this stance. Do you think the American people learn the necessary lessons any way OTHER than experiencing immense pain? Of course not.
We have cancer. It’s terminal if untreated. And the only effective treatment is chemo that makes you wish you were dead.
Personally, I wish we’d never contracted the terminal cancer. But, here we are. So, yeah, you’re goddamned right I’m hoping for chemo.
Oh, and Ana pearl-clutching about this is fucking RICH. Shutting down USAID projects abruptly, with no backstop, unquestionably has ALREADY resulted in deaths, and will cause many more (as just one example of the real-world human suffering this admin brings and you celebrate with glee). Spare me the handwringing bullshit. You don’t give a fuck about those deaths - you fucking cheer it on. You’re fine with Russia controlling all of Ukraine, with nothing impeding their use of rape as a weapon. Again, spare me your fake handwringing. You’re utterly FINE with terrorist murders, so long as they are under a Russian flag.

It has not only consequences in terms of deaths that are being caused by stopping USAID, but it also gives China a new way to make inroads in areas we should care far more about. I care about the nations in the South Pacific. China cares about them insomuch as they gain sway over their politics and allegiances. What we are doing right now is killing trust with those countries, three of which have a free association agreement with us. If I were them I would not trust the US to abide by what those agreements mean. I would not trust the US no matter what they say were I in their shoes.

There are all kinds of issues even deeper than that.

There are plusses and minuses for the dollar being the world's fiat currency. All of those advantages go away when some other system replaces it, and whatever system it is will not be as stable as what we've seen since WWII. And once another system is implemented, it's not a matter of simply changing administrations and claiming backsies.

It's like being in a long term relationship and suddenly your partner breaks up with you, gets addicted to cocaine and crystal meth, and starts fucking very bad people. Even if they have a change of mind in the future, a normal person is not simply going to take them back.

And for what? To save money? That's been the hallucination among the ignorant. I can't tell you how many town halls I've been to in the last 40 years in rural areas where some yokel stands up and declares he could balance the budget in a moment's time - like a Thanos snap - by eliminating foreign aid. Never mind that the lion's share of foreign aid goes to Egypt and Israel, which is politically untouchable.

Just today a report came out the Congress can't reach their budget goals without making severe cuts in Medicare or Medicaid. That's the reality that Americans don't want to hear. The big obligations for the federal government are Social Security, Department of Defense, Medicare and Medicaid, and those have been untouchable for the most part. So the Republicans keep implementing their popular tax breaks - starting with Reagan in the 80s - and every time the annual deficit balloons. It's crazy how many hard line Republicans there are who claim the budget is their big issue - way more than Democrats - and yet it's always been the Republican Party that's been chiefly responsible for the rampant escalation of the national debt. The principal asset we've been selling to the world for 40 years is our debt. Not just our government debt. Our private sector debt, too. Wall Street has successfully exported our debt around the world, helping the American people live beyond their means for decades, and the world has gone along with it because it's helped lift a number of economies around the world along with it. What happens when some of those countries stop investing in US debt? It doesn't take much. It's not like suddenly there won't be any buyers of US debt. But it's at the margins where prices are determined. And once there's a run on a country, it's challenging to reverse course.

What the Trump Administration is doing in very fundamental ways is fucking around with how the global economy works. It's amazing how fragile and interdependent the world economies are at this point. A massive implementation of Just In Time management philosophies that attempt to keep stocks low to increase efficiency

means even "minor" disruptions have huge impacts on the supply chains and the abilities of governments to manage busts in the economic cycle. Nobody had any idea the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers would lead to the freezing of credit markets around the world, and require an unparalleled international printing of money to cover over the paper losses on bank inventories so liquidity would return. And of course the lesson learned from all of this - much like bringing your heroin addicted son home and paying for his living costs - is to go back to making the same bad decisions because you'll be bailed out for it in any case.

Modern economic history - since the establishment of capitalism as the preferred way of setting up Western style economies - is replete with tariff wars ending badly for everyone involved.

This is the problem with populist policies. They're implemented - much like Caesar's bread and circuses - to make the masses feel good about what's going on, while the real power grab is elsewhere. No one in power truly thinks we're going to save a lot of money by ending foreign aid. It's a sop to the Average Joe to make him feel better that THIS government is finally listening to him, implementing the solutions HE'S been advocating since the 80s. America First baby! What could go wrong!

Another good one.  The average American's understanding of "globalism" is offshoring jobs and shithole countries with funny looking people and different religions gaining influence in various spheres.

But the fact of the matter is that the economy is now global and there is no way for any nation to successfully withdraw from that economy (successfully meaning not becoming DPRK).

Isolationism is even less practical now than it has ever been.

It’s been clarified that ALL intelligent e sharing has been stopped.  Not only targeting assistance and imagery of the movement of Russian forces.  We’ve stopped sharing information for advance warning of drone and missile strikes on Ukraine.

The point is “leverage” and to force Ukraine to get serious about negotiating. At least, according to the White House.  Trump wants a deal, and he thinks that more dead Ukrainian children and civilians will offer the shorter route to get there.

So that’s what you’ve voted for, Spankytoes and Anastasis.  We have to let Russia kill the Ukrainian kids if we want peace.

Repulsive behavior by America, and entirely fitting because the people who voted for this are repulsive themselves.  Promises made, promises kept.

Any chance we are still sharing intelligence with our European friends and they conveniently pass it on? Man I hope so. Certainly not all the back room operators have bought into the bs.

The plan, spearheaded by the UK and France, was set out by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at this weekend's summit of 18 European and Canadian leaders, and would work to uphold any ceasefire in Russia's war on Ukraine.

Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said such a move "can't be allowed" because it would amount to the "direct, official and unveiled involvement of Nato members in the war against Russia".
