Spam musubi, beef Curry Udon, shrimp squid fish tempura and tried the dashi soup

spam musubi is the perfect grab and go snack. It’s sweet savory and salty with no condiments. HahaA1FC89FF-DDFF-415C-A224-FAC3BED5F773.thumb.jpeg.391050ad7922bad3bafc491f30dba282.jpeg

Damn -- I'm pretty sure that I could eat my weight in that squid tempura!  Party on, brother.

well I thought this was going to get a lot more raunchy than it did so started it here, I'll move it to F&T and change the title to accurately reflect the trip

Saddest story that I've heard so far today.

Welp, lopped a week off of our trip because "weird economy" + "damn, Hawaii is expensive"

So, we'll stay 3 nights in Waikiki without a car and 4 in nights in Punalu'u with a car.

We'll be staying at the red dot.  What's good in the hood?

I would eat as much fresh caught fish as you can. It's the cheapest, but most authentic thing from my memories.

I'm down with that.

I heard the area closer to the zoo is good... maybe read the beach was less crowded.  I also like visiting local zoos. No idea what theirs is like.

Any good cheap food options in that part of Waikiki?

There's nothing "cheap" in Waikiki from what I remember, and the stuff that was, why would you wanna eat it you are in hawaii.

I wouldn't worry about crowds, even when it was crowded there was tons of space. There's so much beach it won't be hard to have a nice time.

Man, I've got four mouths to feed... two of which are a pain in the ass.  Cheap is relative, of course. I hear food trucks are a way to go.
