9 ac units. Want an app to control them all

Recommended Posts

We are going to have 8 in our new place all ducted mini splits or ductless tucked up and into the ceiling. 8 thermostats too. I’ve been explicit in need to sync some and all. As soon as we decide I’ll let you know. I do think we are going to use ecobee stats and home assistant for smart home controls how we plan to integrate to control and sync I’ll let you know.

Troph have you used the ductless enough in your projects to prefer one brand over another for any particular reason (whether it is reliability or price or whatever)?

Sadly our own home is our experiment but our HVAC guy swears by Mitsubishi. So that’s what we are using. I’ll try and snap a few pics but so far especially the ducted versions look no different than traditional - the air handler and condenser units though are much smaller.

Can you just not use a programmable thermostat?

It’s not one it’s syncing multiple programables with an overriding system. At least that’s what we need to do and I think stanco wants to do too. Could be wrong on his account.

Yeah, but if he can’t sync them all up, a programmable is gonna be his best bet.

Mitsubishi is the one I’ve heard the most about.

+1 for Mitsubishi as well. There are different levels/types depending on use. We got a pro line one for our smaller 12x12 server room as it runs 24x7x365 and has been great for years.
