3 wood. And yea. Still had a 6 or 7 left. That hole is hard but 11 is impossible from the backs. Hardest hole in golf. You have to aim over the trees on the right and still hit a cut which is awkward. Then you have a long iron in to it. I was a puss and laid up to the right.

I hit my 3w farther than you hit your driver twice. It’s all about the shape of the shot and get it to the speed slot on the left side which I did. The caddie said 3w and turn it over.

First, it's a joke. Second, I'm guessing I'd hit every club in your bag farther than you. I'd also assume you're a much, much better golfer than I am.

Big deal, I know I can throw every clubs further than you. Now all we have to do is get Stanco's clubs.

Now back to the Master's; freaking hyped for it, and that was before Tiger supercharged the fans and media.

Looks likely the par  3, gets washed out, unless they push up the start

Looking at the future radar, I don’t see the Par 3 happening today.

Kinda shocked Phil didn't show up for the dinner.  After seeing the menu, that punishment is worse than missing the tournament.

Side note, think that dinner might be the best tradition in golf, outside the running of the whores at the old Byron Nelson at TPC Four Seasons

I played Hancock once.

Hancock since COVID is in GREAT shape. From tee to green, it's in the best shape of all the Austin munis. Greens are lush but are cut higher so a good bit slower. It's a fun course to walk, it's walking only anyway. Don't have to worry about tee times. People are just more relaxed and friendlier. I play that course 2-3 times a week and play one of the other munis on the weekend. I much prefer Hancock for the stress-free friendlier vibe.

Tiger down to 40-1 now. They can make the odds 10-1 and people will still bet on him. If he is in contention on Sunday, I'd look for an out of control golf cart to take out his bad leg, because every sportsbook in the country would get ass hammered like never before. Its not like they can layoff action on the field, when Tiger is 40 or 50 to 1. I doubt they are  losing a lot of sleep over the risk, however.

Personally, I hope he DQ's as early as possible on Thursday  so I dont have to hear about him, his kid, his story, all of that bullshit. Just show me the golf, not 275 different angles of Tigers revamped swing. But I think he's a tool in general, so I expect my opinion to be in the minority.

I'll cosign.

Even though I am not a Tiger hater.  It's going to be overwrought by more than a little bit.

Just show the fucking golf.  It's like when they cut to Butler Cabin for a 10 min fucking Faldo/Nantz... reset.  I DON'T FUCKING CARE!!!!!

Gamblers: The Golf Channel is projecting really high scores tomorrow. It’s supposed to be a really windy day. “Par would be a really good score on Thursday.”

They also like Justin Thomas because of the Tiger tutelage, and Kopeka to win.

Just my personal opinion, if you could decent odds on Rahm finishing top 5, I’d put my money there.

Tiger fans: based on the Fred Couples’ interview Tiger’s leg is still bjorked enough that it causes him extreme pain if he hits a bad shot. I think he’ll be laser focused, but the walking/grind of hitting so many shots will get him. He’s only played 45 holes in 8, eight, days. Making the cut would be a big accomplishment.

I mean he won a US Open on a broken leg. But that was quite a few injuries and a lot of liquor and pain pills ago. Father time is undefeated.

The course playing tough will play to his advantage. I can't imagine he's going to be able to score all that well as I figure he's lost quite a bit of distance - but if he can knock it around, avoid big numbers and putt well then you figure he's got a shot at teeing it up Saturday. I also think there's a really good chance he WDs if something flares up or he just has a terrible first round.

Did Gary Player really wea a turtleneck embroidered with Golf Saudi?

I didn't get a screenshot, but that's what it looked like. Is that his tribute to Phil?

not a Gary fan at all but he zinged Watson pretty good this morning:

Tom:  Gary, you gonna do a push up this morning?

Gary:   Did them while you were sleeping.

If I'm Tiger, I go out there for my Thursday round and never pull Driver out of the bag.
