The off day tomorrow allows a 1 week hiatus from the 6 man. Starting Tuesday we have 16 in a row and will go back to it.

Yeah, this.  Odo and Javier will start next Sat and Sun in either order and we'll stick with that the next full turn.  Starting May 26 we have 4 straight Thursdays off and then the next 2 Mondays off so they'll probably go back to 5 then.

Tigers have 4 starters hitting < 0.170 as overall mlb BA sinks into the abyss. Can the Stros schedule them 50-100 times this year, or too late?

Sadly, The next time we see the Tigers playing the Stros UT will have already played ULM and Alabama in football.

Between Siri, Goodrum, and Castro, we were doing our best to keep it fair.

Fucking off days are the worst.  I did my timeblock last Friday before leaving the office for this week and I have

6:00-7:00- Whitney

7:00-8:00- Lucas

8:00-9:00- Ava.

Fucking family time.  That's what you have reduced me to with this damn off day.  Thanks Obama.

No pitcher can stop our juggernaut of an offense from exploding for 3 runs.

Name that former Astro!

2.00 ERA  with a 0.67 WHIP with 12 K and 1 BB in 9 IP.

Musgrove is close on some of those numbers, but this has to be a reliever with only 9 IP. *Edited* It's Raley.

On Pena and Correa, if Click et al let Carlos go because they knew what they had in Pena, then my hat is off to them.

I'm gonna chalk it up to a gamble that paid off because you can never be sure a prospect will be able to hit in the majors once they're promoted.  Knocks on wood.

I think Pena was a very big factor in their cost/benefit analysis of not offering Carlos the money he required to beat the market and they weren't willing to pay him 30 million this year just to see him go to FA again when they're already facing that possibility with Verlander. I'm not saying they knew Pena would be this successful this early (and let's face it, he's going to hit some bumps later) but I think it is very reasonable to assume the front office/development gurus knew Pena could play at the ML level given his athleticism, age, and performance against AAA pitching last year.

Correct on the RP and anyone who knows my posting history can guess who it is.

Some of y'all sure hated him last year and Dusty for using him in late and close games. Guy was snekbit at the worst times and Astros fans weren't hearing any of my "well look at his advanced metrics!' pleadings.
