Tom Hallion called a game that would make Angel Hernandez shake his head.  He was awful even by his normal shitty standards.

He called a walk-off walk against Chapman.  I'm failing to see the problem.

NSIAP: Not an awesome look for the owners that often cry poverty. Pittsburgh Post-gazette has records that show the Pirates entire payroll was fully or nearly covered just by ticket and concession profits several times in the past decade+.

If you think the Pirates are paying their players in peanuts, you’re right. And in hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and beer, too.

In fact, the lion’s share of the Pirates players’ payroll in many years since 2007 has been covered by ticket and concession revenues — even before accounting for the millions that Pittsburgh’s team collects from TV and Major League Baseball.

Those years when the Pirates finally went to the playoffs after a two-decade drought?

In 2013, 2014 and 2015, fans’ spending on tickets and peanuts, popcorn, and other concessions covered the payroll, based on an analysis by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette of never-before-released documents created to fulfill the team’s rental agreement for its use of the baseball showpiece PNC Park.

How do you improve on perfection? Roki Sasaki is doing his best to find out.

In his first start since throwing the first perfect game in Nippon Professional Baseball since 1994, Sasaki, 20, almost did it again for the Chiba Lotte Marines, as he was pulled after eight perfect innings in a 1-0 loss to the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters on Sunday.

The right-hander amassed 14 strikeouts before he was pulled from a scoreless game after throwing 102 pitches. Of note: He was taken out after he struck out the side in the eighth inning with his pitches reportedly still reaching 101 mph.

Sasaki hasn't allowed an opposing hitter to reach base in an NPB-record 52 consecutive plate appearances.

Through four starts this season, Sasaki has a 1.16 ERA, 56 strikeouts and has allowed seven hits and two walks in 31 innings pitched.

Devin Williams for the Brewers is grade A ass.

Devin Williams for the Brewers was the NL Rookie of the Year and NL Reliever of the Year in 2020 with an 0.33 era in 27 innings pitched. Last year he had a 2.50 era and 1.18 whip to go with his 87 k's in 54 IP. He also throws what many consider to be the most unhittable pitch in baseball over the last two seasons, his "Airbender" change up. Devin Williams for the Brewers is one of the 5-6 best relief pitchers in baseball, if not top two or three. his last two appearances have sucked, but he is decidedly not "grade A ass."

If you can’t throw it for a strike, it doesn’t matter if your change up is unhittable or not.  See Devenski, Christopher.  He turned into total ass once hitters started laying off the Circle of Death.

what part of "0.33 whip" and "87 k's in 54 ip" makes you think he can't throw his changeup for strikes?

Bryce Harper is hitting .156; Bo Bichette is hitting .195; Mookie Betts .226; Freddie Freeman had 1 rbi heading into today; brandon woodruff has a 7.27 era. clearly all of these guys are grade A ass.

So far this year, yes. Doesn’t mean they and Mr. Williams can’t get back on track and remove themselves from the grade A ass category.

I didn’t say he was ass last year, dumbass.

You’re calling a dude Ass off of 3 fucking outings with the stat line from last year that I just posted, but I’m the dumbass? Your mother should have swallowed you and saved us all the frustration of having to read your fuckery
