Yeah….that’s going to create some problems for Hamas. Slaughtering unarmed civilians of multiple western states…will draw attention. And not the good kind.

We are not a great species. In spite of two previous examples showing the experience to be a massive net negative, we’re doing all we can to have a WWIII. Brilliant.

Also, we have good friends whose daughter was at a kibbutz, got word today that she was safely evacuated we’ll clear of Gaza. So, a tiny bit of good news.

We’ve been trying to have WW3 for two years now. We are a nation and government largely of industrial interventionist warmongers.

Holy shit so they basically stormed this festival and mowed everyone down. Wild.

Yeah - I'm trying to find a summary of exactly what happened. Was out at the fair/game yesterday and pretty unconnected and didn't see anything until last night.  All I've seen are reports of lots of deaths and a consensus that it was a massive intelligence failure for Israel (and the attack clearly involved lots of coordination and planning) but have not found a good summary of exactly what all went down.

Wait….WE’VE been trying to have it? Last I checked, the US didn’t invade Ukraine, didn’t start a war in Armenia, and didn’t just attack Israel.
Not that there’s not plenty of blame to go around in an interconnected globe, particularly when the US remains the greatest power on that globe, but come on. Pointing all fingers back to the US when we are the aggressor nation in precisely zero of these recent conflicts is just stupid.

They killed tourists, including Americans.  Again, why?  What are these guys trying to accomplish?

The Hamas terrorists? They’re trying to seek revenge.
The actual nation states who put them up to it and helped them do it? Instability and chaos. And, riling up their own oppressed people to hate a made-up enemy to distract them from their own shitty regimes (seriously…there’s no real historical reason that Iran and Israel should be deadly enemies).
A lot of Palestinians will die so that Iran’s mullahs can distract their own oppressed people for a while longer.

Can’t imagine that Israel will allow Gaza to remain in its current form.  Egypt and Jordan need to start preparing for millions of refugees.

I'd imagine Gaza is going to be a uniform height of around 1 ft structures by the time Israel is done bombing and shelling the shit out of it

As a note, the third video definitely looks to be a fake.

huh, the embedded tweet shows "there's a new version of this tweet" and when you click through the 3rd video is removed. Nice spot

It shouldn’t remain in its current form.  It doesn’t work for either side.  It is the proverbial open air prison for the Palestinians, and for the Israelis it’s a territory next door run by terrorists who want Israeli genocide and where even in the good times they are constantly launching rocket attacks.  That status quo isn’t tenable.

Hopefully the carnage won’t be as bad as it could be in leveling it and creating the new DMZ or whatever is going to happen.  But we all know what’s going to happen, so if Qatar or Iran or SA and whoever else really supports the Palestinians, they would be negotiating to get them out and take refugees.  But we all know that isn’t happening.

As much as all of these Muslim countries claim to support the Palestinians, not a single fucking one of them want to give up even a little piece of their land (and they have a lot more land than Israel) for the Palestinians.  They want Israel to deal with them because they don't want them.

We have a town in Texas for them. They don’t even have to change the name, but will need to get used to a different pronunciation.

There is no scenario here that doesn’t end badly.  Iran played this perfectly.  They kill any peace deal, likely forever, between Saudi and Israel, which keeps everyone from focusing on their sorry terrorist asses.  They also get the western world to agonize over Israel’s heavy handed approach, which everyone knows is going to go for a while.  Finally it sucks oxygen out of Russia v Ukraine for a while because people have trouble focusing.

It’s going to get a lot worse soon.  This was planned carefully for many months.  The Israeli and west moves are known, we’re fucking predictable as shit.  China and Turkey are real wild cards here depending on how much interest they have in getting involved.  Turkey has traditionally been sort of on Israel’s side unofficially.  Can that continue?

Can we just slot Russia, China, Iran and North Korea into the Axis Powers and get this shit over with?

Turkey sided with Hamas in the past at times, or at least didn't criticize them (but in recent years were reconciling with Israel). Turkey also has a massive beef with Iran/Syria.

We're all setting here talking about the former Yugoslavia republics kicking off another war and/or Russia trying to broaden its war, or Armenia/Azerbaijan, meanwhile Hamas is getting Israel and Lebanon into the chat.

Considering the tensions in the far east as well, it’s like the 1950s came back.

Do we have to dig up Bill Haley and re-animate his corpse?

And does that little niche/cult/whatever of "tradwives" become mainstream?  Will we be inundated with this:

Yea, that's what I'm focused on right now. Nothing better than both sides-ing it after watching what those terrorists did to innocent civilians.

Looking forward to your links of videos showing Israeli solders raping women and children before executing them and then parading their bodies. What? Those don't exist? Okay, so this is just a tad different.

Also, go fuck yourself.

No one is condoning what those people did, dumb fuck. It's disgusting, and they should pay for their crimes, and what they have done will absolutely cause people like you to blame and dehumanize every Palestinian.

Also, the IDF absolutely has, many times, engaged in offensives that have killed hundreds or thousands of Palestinian women and children at a time, and engaged in countless other gross human rights violations, and people like you don't bat a single fucking eye, ever. As soon as the shoe is on the other foot, though, people like you want to wipe every Palestinian off the face of the map.

You go fuck your own face, bitch.

If Palestine allows Hamas and Hezbollah to thrive and hide amongst the population, I do t think Israel is the bad guy for responding to attacks.

Pretty much this. It's really unfortunate and sad, but there's a reason they fire the rockets/drones and store munitions in schools, hospitals, etc..

There is no good solution, and the events of the last 2 days is certainly not the way forward.

If I’m alive in 50 years I imagine I’ll open up my newspaper hologram or whatever one morning and see headlines about fighting over there still. It will never end, no matter how many of you think a genocide of Palestine will fix everything. As long as people live in that whole part of the world, there will be fighting.

It should also be understood that multiple respected people are calling this Israel's version of 9/11.

Perfect analogy.  Infiltration of the country, unexpected, lethal attacks on civilians.

Could totally see this being a diversion orchestrated by the Russians through the Iranians.

That would be a spectacular miscalculation for russia because Iran is about to see all of it's drone factories get asploded

Maybe, but it’s generally agreed that the Iranians are backing Hamas and Hezbollah.  One more step to include Putin in some big picture strategy with the Iranians (who are providing some support to Russia in Ukraine) is not out of the question.
