We won out in that RB class. I remember we were in on a lot of them but ended up getting bijan. Trey went to bama. Milton Georgia? Didn’t another 5 star go to Ohio state?

Traveon Henderson, right?

No, Bijan was the year after.  This was the Noah Cain and Trey Sanders year.

Sanders was a ‘19, missed on him and Noah Cain that same year.

Yep. Sanders was a Herman pipe dream we kept just chasing and chasing. Then he also was able to run off Cain on signing day despite Drayton pretty much having him in the bag.

Good times.

I thought the portal was only open for FCS players at this time, and that FBS window only happens after the final CFP rankings?

Maybe just announcing intentions so your handlers, I mean.... yeah, handlers, can start soliciting bids?

Cool. Just DM me with how you want to get paid and I’ll shoot it across.

Remember us being "in" on him as a recruit. Don't think we're taking a transfer RB though.

Fuck that fucking guy and his parents. Also, I love seeing him bust for Bama.

Looks like Mr & Mrs Sanders must’ve stolen $42k from CTJ during the recruiting process

Marion is now following:

Grant DuBose - Charlotte

Andrew Armstrong - Texas A&M Commerce:

Abdul Janneh - Duquesne:

I know for sure Armstrong is highly regarded. Supposedly Miami wants him as well. Along with Utah already offering.

This is basically just announcing their intent to enter the portal. Its an irrelevant technicality since they can't be contacted officially by other teams or transfer except when the window actually opens. Just think of this like some NFL guy saying "yeah I plan to opt out and test free agency" weeks before FA actually begins.

WR is going to be one of the positions in the portal where you can be picky because there should be plenty of quality options.

Just a heads up, they are definitely already being contacted.

Impressive hands on Armstrong's highlights

That 2nd catch is something that Worthy has never shown in 2 years. Tracks the ball and adjusts to make the catch.

Of these guys, which has the best speed but also can jump up and compete for 50/50 balls. Because that is the type of receiver this offense so desperately needs.

Armstrong is 6'6".  Highlight shows quite a few sideline catches with him high-pointing and using great footwork to stay in bounds.

Bijan was the year we "missed" Zach Evans and Ty Jordan.

I certainly do not miss the dark times of Herman era WR recruiting/development but I would kill to add a LJH type to the mix. I guess to be fair that is kind of what Neyor is/was supposed to be.

I’m not talking about big slow guys. Believe it or not there are guys 6’2 to 6’4 that can run and go get it.

I think Neyor is more of a deep threat.  He is really fast.

Wasn't really comparing the two directly as players. Just talking about the comfort you can provide a shaky QB by having some larger bodied targets out there that can actually use that size to get up and make contested catches. Sanders was the only one helping Ewers out in that regard this season. Obviously LJH did that mostly from the slot vs Neyor is an outside guy with speed but he is also 6'3 and his film is full of him being able to get up in the air and use every bit of that size to bail out his Qb and provide some larger windows to throw into.

I realize those are highlights but this is the type of receiver our offense begs for. That QB looks good in his own right as well.

Those two were espousing the virtue of Papa Fucking Sitos as legit Mexican food. On the next episode they will probably discuss how Five Guys serves the best hamburgers in the country. It’s hard to take someone seriously when they come with an all time shitty take on another subject.

Sometimes they pay off - like Drew Sanders just did for Arkansas.

Sanders actually played a good amount and looked like a promising player before he got hurt and then passed up by a guy named Dallas Turner.

Smith has barely sniffed the field in the two years he was in Norman.

Yeah but that Sooners defense is a bunch of worldbeaters -- tough to crack that lineup 🙄

Had to look it up to see if that is the same Maureese Wren that played WR in high school and it is. That kid had legitimate offers out of HS as a LB but insisted on playing WR and signed with Louisiana Tech because they told him he could. Now he’s playing DL.
