He did the right one with Spurs - IS.

That said, I don't know why people break into the Queens English when talking soccer. I can let some stuff go, like pitch and touchline, etc. But the general grammar - nope.

With teams and using the plural v singular, I am guilty of switching back and forth but I genuinely think it's only because of all the English commentary, podcasts, articles, etc. It's not something I intentionally do, because I agree that it sounds silly.

But what's really inexcusable is the idiots at the bar yelling "cmon you Gunnnnnaahs!", "feck off!" or singing their club's anthem in a feigned British accent.

THFC Fans just tweeted that Pochettino wants to be considered for the position because he's frustrated at Levy over transfers but I still think he wants to be in the new stadium and he's got tons of talent.

You don't turn down ManU to stay at Spurs regardless of the new digs. Imagine what Poch could do with Pogba and Lukaku.

Lukaku would be the 6th or 7th best player on Spurs. He’s horribly overrated. Pogba hasn’t exactly lit the EPL on fire when he’s been on the pitch.

Kane & Eriksen >>>>> Lukaku & Pogba

Because Poch >>>>> Mou at coaching these players. Pogba would have as many goals at Spurs as Kane does given the service. When your team parks the bus for 80 minutes, you're gonna suck as a striker.

I have to agree with Cheese on this one. Mou has completely mis-managed his team. Some have talked about change in production in Sanchez and Mkhitaryan since they swapped teams, frankly I think this has a hell of a lot less to do with the players and more to do with who was being coached by Mou. The guy is where offensive players go to die. I don't think Pogba or Lukaku are any different.

Thanks, bro.

When you "go to" player is Fellaini, while Mata and Pogba are on the bench, you are doing something wrong.

I think United are going to have more trouble than most of you think attracting a top manager. I’m not saying the right guy couldn’t get it turned around but I see a lot of similarities between the end of the Mack era Texas Football and Man U right now.

Pros:

tons of money (to buy players, and in manager salary)

rashford

History of the club

Cons:

woodward

glazers

fans with unrealistic expectations

lack of alignment within the club

old roster

terrible backline

no coherence on the roster (bought players for 4 different playing styles the last 5 years)

tons of players who’s salary outpaces their performance

The other side of this argument is Poch will likely be able to hold onto Lukaku and Pogba if they start winning where as with anyone on the spurs, you are just waiting to see where their plays end up.

Solid point. Spurs is going to be fighting to keep Deli/Eriksen/Kane/Sanchez when Barca/RM start calling.

Spurs sold Bale in 2013 and Walker in 17. It’s not like they’ve lost all their talent like Southampton. I’m sure if Madrid wants to pay £200m for Kane that levy could put the money to good use.

Liverpool have lost Suarez, Sterling and Coutinho since 2014. Doesn’t mean Klopp sees United as a better job

United lost Ronaldo to RM. United haven’t lost anyone recently because they haven’t had any world class players that Barca or RM wanted.

Who just won the ballon d'or?

Past that they have never had this amount of talent. Who have they retained that could produce at RM or Barca?

Plus the team has got to be hurting financially. That stadium delay has got to be painful.

I'm not saying Poch will jump, but when ManU calls, you take the call. He may have a few demands but he's in the driver's seat at this point. If Spurs go 2-3 more years without trophies, his "value" will only go down.Sometimes it's just about timing.

I'm losing patience with Levy. His penny pinching the last year or so has hurt the team badly. The stadium delays are his fucking fault, it's been outlined before:

https://deadspin.com/tottenhams-new-stadium-construction-sounds-like-a-night-1829196264

The stadium was supposed to be completed by the start of the season, with every contingency plan missed. The stadium is now 4 months late with MAYBE Feb as a potential opening date (so we are pushing the business end of half a year).

This doesn't even start with the lack of transfers this summer. Throw in the leaking roof news that broke yesterday and the stadium opening being now where in sight, I see why fans are up in arms (and why attendance has been dropping). Hell, Wembley is on the other end of fucking town!!!

I'm sure the lack of transfers are related to the stadium costs. I know Poch is saying "we are good" but behind the scenes, I guarantee he would have liked to pick up a few supporting players (especially on defense). Champions League/ Cup games / EPL top 4 take their toll.

Where will Mou land? Spurs?

It's an interesting question. I seriously doubt it's Spurs or any other top PL team. He's burned all those bridges and I don't see him humbling himself like Rafa and going to a second or third tier PL team.

Maybe Italy, but I don't know if those clubs can pay him what he thinks he's worth. Probably not Germany. Do you go and manage a second tier La Liga club after you've already managed Real? I doubt that too. Maybe back to Portugal? That seems like a step down for him though.

USMNT?

He’s sitting on £60m in buyouts. He can afford to wait a few years for his reputation to get repaired a big club to get desperate. And there’s a good chance Woodward is exposed as a fraud by the next manager and his reputation gets cleaned up a lot sooner.

I honestly think like in MLB he’s an old school manager that has been passed up by the clubs/managers that are forward thinking and embrace analytics.

He was sitting on £42m in buyouts before ManU, so? The guy is a coach and wants to coach. If he finds a job that he wants, he will take it.

Point is, who in their right mind would hire him at a top club? His options are going to be lacking and it's hard to imagine him swallowing his pride and taking even a 2nd-tier job.
