Ruud painted lines at 5-2 in the 3rd set tie-breaker to go up 6-2 and it was over.

After getting spanked 6-1 in the first set, Ruun has won 6 games in the following two sets. The kid is pretty special and could have a 15 year rivalry with Álcaraz that could end up being on the level of Federer/Nadal/Djokovic.

Good to see that Gauff has already talked to the chair umpire about Trevisan’s bullshit wailing well after the ball is over the net to the point that I think that she was still “aaaaahhhh”-ing when she  hit the ball. The chair ump said that she would talk to the Italian during the changeover.

The rule is (supposedly) that the chair umpire won’t say anything unless the opposing player brings it up. That is such a bullshit rule.

She shortened her bullshit for the 3rd game and she was broken.

Now Lindsay Davenport is sticking up for the Italian and so now the English poof is agreeing.

They are completely disregarding that the opponent has to bring it up.

Also, Trevisan varies her Mon depending on the game. It is planned bullshit.

Now Coco got screwed by Hawkeye not being used. The ball was 13 mm long and the chair umpire called it good. Line call bullshit is a joke.

Trevi 3

Gauff 4

7 games, 2 holds of serve

Trevi 3

Gauff 6

So that means that Trevisan held her serve in the first game and then lost her serve the following 4 games she served. Coco won her first & last (4th) game and lost the middle two  🙄

Trevisan is not very good and she’s making nervous unforced errors.

Coco’s eating a bowl of fruit while Trevisan gets a massage and/or wrap on her right leg. And now we’re back. ~6 min break

Yea, the moaning is super annoying to listen to. Looks like Gauff will shut her up shortly though.

And she did. As the 2nd set went on, Trevisan got quieter and stopped wailing, only emitting an actual exhale when hitting the ball.

I don’t know why Zverev hasn’t hit an underhanded first serve from the prep position.

Kyrgios & Bublik would have 3 or 4 aces under 30mph on Rafa by now.

Zverev’s choking away the 1st break & the commanding tie-break lead were pretty bad signs for his outlook.

the next match is a separate ticket?

wtf

“Night Session”

Since they installed lights for the 2020 (fall) French Open, they have the ability to schedule a night match (only on their Center Court) and have been scheduling a 9pm match that frequently has been starting at 9:30pm and going after 1am.

They have only been scheduling men’s matches (except for maybe one night) because if people are going to pay for a night match, they don’t want to give them a 53 minute women’s match

If Sascha hadn’t gotten hurt, the next semifinal may have started after 10pm and gone until well past 2am.

I feel like the women’s tournament has been a complete snoozer. So many seeded losses in the first two rounds along with tons of straight set wins by the remaining favorites in front of 25% capacity audiences.

Even with Coco in the finals, I get the feeling that her doubles final with Jessie Pegula on Sunday will be a more fun watch than the singles final against Iga tomorrow.

The Dallas Morning News just printed the photo of Zverev’s ankle at its worst ankle on page 2 of their “Sports Day” (sports section) like it wouldn’t make people queasy.

I will post it in a spoiler so people are forewarned:

ZVEREV’s ANKLE

There’s a whole lotta Dak Prescott ankle going on in that photo, so I think that Zverev may have dislocated his foot and possibly torn things.

He could be out for however long Dak was out, or twice as long. The contenders (Top 10) may all be younger than he is by the time he returns.

I feel like Coco’s first slam final came and went with only a few minutes of intrigue. (The first few games of the 2nd set.)

That tall Chinese 19 year-old won the first set in a tie-breaker before her menstrual cramps became more than she would bear. (True reason given at her press conference.) She was the only player who could make a Swiatek match somewhat interesting.

Having a dominant #1 player is not good for a sport.

The good news is you can dislocate your ankle and come back good as new. Dislocate your knee and you’re never the same. He didn’t break his tibia or fibula like Dak so it’s a totally different deal. An extreme foot roll is much better than your foot pointing the wrong way 90 degrees.

Kiki Mladenovic wins her 9th Slam. Hating doubles or not, that’s a lot.

I am a big fan of the French chicas. They’re just delicious. Mladenovic is a more classic model-esque beauty, but I love smiles & facial expressions of Garcia as well. Kind of a charming tomboy with a big grin.

Sorry our girls lost, but at least they lost to a lovely pair.

Crazy thing is those Frenchies fucking HATED each other not that long ago. Fast forward to now, cash those checks.

I haven’t followed the Frenchie Fallout, I just started watching at 3-0 in the 3rd set and they were so superior to our girls.

Something I didn’t realize until the end…

Coco is 5’9”, Pegula is about 5’6” (maybe), but they are midgets compared to the French team.

Garcia looks to be 6’0” and Mladenovich is an inch taller.

Mladenovic next to Pegula in the photo lineup was laughable.

Brothel Worker & Carli Lloyd’s stunt double

At first glance, I wouldn’t recognize this couple as the pair who played the French Open doubles final.

I will read the article.
