The problem with this statement is that the first scene of R1 is when Jyn Erso is a little girl and Krennic shows up to take Galen with him and ends up killing Jyn's mother.  That's followed by some visuals of grown up Jyn in her cell and then what it likely leads into is the 3rd scene of R1 where we first meet Cassian strolling through whatever that asteroidish city is where he gets the intel on Bohdi, the weapon that Bohdi is rambling about, and the existence of "Erso" and then kills the informant to leave no loose ends (how very Luthen of him).

Fan bois can eat shit. They are the reason why so much SW content is garbage.

It depends on the fan boi. Some fan bois are very much into the version of Star Wars they grew up with, and hate everything after.

Some fan bois like everything with the Star Wars name and will rage if you say anything bad about even the worst Star Wars things.

Some fan bois just like Star Wars things a lot and don't really care if you do or not.

I used to be in that second category. I don't have the time or energy to be that person any more. I'm now in the third.

I’m in the middle of my season 1 rewatch. We’re on vacation down in St Kitts. I’m currently just before The Eye. This show is just so good. Real character development, great filming, interesting.

That's where I left off. Signed up for the full D+/H/E+ premium bundle yesterday and watched the first 5 episodes last night.

It's so good.

What can I say, I watched R1 the other day, getting reloaded for all this.  It also occurred to me on that rewatch that the last act begins with the council shutting down Erso and then Cassian deciding that he isn't going to sit there and do nothing and gathering up Melshi and the others to go to Scarif.  It kind of harkens to Luthen pushing the issue with the Aldhani action when others (including Mon) were hesitant.  Maybe some of those trailer clips we see of Luthen imploring Cassian to "think like a leader" connect the two.

In the middle of the heist during the eye right now on the rewatch. I'd forgotten just how much ground season 1 covered.

Same here. Before reading through this thread I had it in my head that we were actually awaiting the 3rd season of Andor.

Thought about watching R1 before the drop of season 2 but decided to wait. It has been over a year since I last watched R1, so when I do the immediate rewatch after the conclusion of S2, the combo will have a slight “fresh” feel to it. Or so that is my theory.

My last rewatch took two days.  Once I start watching it I have to complete it.  I have zero doubt this next season is going to cement Andor's place in Star Wars lore and in "TV" series history.

Not a fan of the 3 episodes at a time.  Not possible to watch that much in a night when it doesn't release until 8.

Also makes it a pain in the ass to discuss on here.

Don't click on the thread until you finish each week's 3

That's your spoiler system

SW nerds will fucking whine about anything and everything.

I can't imagine where you'd have to be in life to care that you're missing out on a few minutes of Jimmy Smits powerhouse acting in an ancillary role.

Yet the nerds still whine. Honestly Bratt is a pretty damn good sub for Smits.

Like Baylon’s recast in Ahsoka. They didn’t skim on replacement

But isn't Jimmy Smits doing other work? I doubt his role would've been that large and Benjamin Bratt is really good. Maybe the overseas schedule was an issue since this is shot I believe at Pinewood outside of London.

I confess that I will rate the series exclusively on how long it makes me wait to hear the melodious strains of Alan Tudyk's voice work.

... maybe.

So they’re releasing 3 episodes tonight, right? Are you supposed to watch them all together?

I ask because I can probably only get to 1 episode tonight.

Each week is a 3 episode arc, so yes, they are designed to be watched together

I think they learned their lesson from season 1 where Gilroy set up the episodes in a similar 3 episode = 1 Act set. He broke that up a bit with episode 7, the 3 part Nakina 5 story, and the 2 final episodes. Back then Disney+ only released 1 episode a week. Now that they broke that model in the last few years, they're doing the 3 episode set releases. Those are also the breaks for time jumps to get us towards Rogue One.
