The thing is Fox news is to News in the US what Izvestia is in Russia.  Izvestia literally translates to "The News" in Russian and is as appropriate a moniker as the News is in Fox News.

They have a whole social media network called the Truth.  I find it ironic that the Russian newspaper, Pravda, translates quite literally to "Truth" so the signals of it being all propaganda and disinformation are front and center.  Probably a lot of Russian social media manipulators there too.

And here it is in practice, not to spread The Truth but DJT's "truth"

there's no truth in Pravda and no news in Izvestia

I respect Fari Willis. But, now she’s on record saying she’ll make the decision to indict Trump, or not, by the end of the month, which coincides with Hate’s post by a weather service predicting a solid amount of rain in Central Texas, by July 1. So, the end of June might be surprisingly renewing, or doubly depressing.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis told the Associated Press that she expects to come to a decision on whether her office will charge the former president by June 30 for allegedly attempting to overthrow the results in Georgia.

This is all going to come down to the costanza defense and it’s going to work because we are a dumb society. It’s not a lie if you believe it.

They are already using the Chewbacca defense

If she doesn’t, she’s a coward and complicit

Unfortunately, you just named the only two characteristics any member of our political class has.  Every single one of them is either MAGA-complicit, a coward, or -- for most of them -- both.

There is no third characteristic.

This is the guy that was the environmental lawyer, right?  Never argued in court. Go back to your office and we'll call you if there is an oil spill.

The panda mural, decorative baseball bat, and wall mounted keg control really makes the video sing.

If you haven't seen John Oliver's take on Herschman's clip from last week you should. (PS I couldn't find the clip on YouTube.  You'll have to go to HBO Go to see it.)

Apparently the panda mural was also featured in the film Fifty Shades of Grey (I did not know this until I heard Oliver talk about it).

Also, and I'm just spitballing here, but pay attention to the 1) agreements to take action and 2) actions to actually threaten people who are exercising rights and privileges afforded to them by the Constitution or laws of the US (such as the right to count federal ballots, such as exercised by the women in Arizona, or the Ga. Sec. of State)....

And think of an 18 USC 241 prosecution:

Quote

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both

A statute meant to address violent intimidation of Freedom Riders.  But this is some pretty parallel shit.

I'm envisioning his intelligence briefings involving McDonalds and the internet.  My god, this man was a special kind of stupid.

Are those keg controls?  They look like metallic animal ass sculptures to me. I see a turtle and a raccoon and I can't make out the other one.  Also, funny that the bat has the word Justice on it.  That's not how justice works, my man.

lol They looked like a keg tap thingy but I’m at work on my phone and I have old ass eyes so my deduction may be suspect.

Whatever they are, they’re all very weird and incongruous.

With all of this coming out, I'm not sure in what universe dotard would be able to run again and they all get off.  I mean this is DAMNING stuff.  I really just think that when it comes down to it, the vast majority of people don't understand and don't care.  They don't know what it takes to maintain a democracy and therefore won't take the steps to do so.

Ummmmm.....this is the important part.  In spite of ALL of these undeniable facts coming out....the vast majority (and I'm talking in the 98% range) of GQP voters will just say "this is just sore loser nothingberder stuff, peaceful tourists, that's all it was," and keep blindly supporting an organization that continues to actively seek the violent overthrow of the United States.

Fascists and terrorists are bad.  But they don't go anywhere unless there's a huge chunk of population willing to go along with them.  We have them.  They fly actual fucking flags declaring their allegiance to the movement over their allegiance to the country.  We.  Are.  Toast.

And. Here. We. Go.

Gaetz, Brooks, Perry, Gohmert, MTG (so far).

Requested blanket pardons for all those at 12/21 meeting (preemptive pardons).
