“I like Coach Sark and Coach Banks a lot,” said Shannon, after his unofficial visit to Austin. “I like the way they use the tight end in their offense, especially the Y. I really like the way they see me fitting in their offense. Then you combine that with the amazing football tradition and history, the facilities, and the amazing fan and alumni support.”

"The 6-foot-6, 237- pound prospect from Mater Dei (Calif.) is a player that has been on a steady rise. You can’t teach the size that he brings to the table. He is a broad-built, muscular athlete who is still scratching the surface of his game. With a frame to top out at 250 pounds easily, the future is bright for Shannon. The two-sport athlete plays baseball as well and exhibits very good functional movement and agility for someone his size. As he continues to refine his route-running and the nuances of the position where he can maximize his size and length, more layers of his game will take shape. The Texas Longhorns and UCLA Bruins are the two leaders in the race for him currently."
