Active shooter thread

It's an Oklahoma Wal-Mart.  A customer was likely just using his or her pistol to recover a can of Cheesy Poofs that was too high on the shelf.  The three victims might've been swinging from the ceiling.  This is probably just an unfortunate coincidence.

The Rascal Scooters in Oklahoma Wal-Marts have mounted turrets on the front and back.  The one on the front is a .50 cal and the one on the back launches cans of RC Cola like a t-shirt cannon.  And I'd reserve judgement on the shooter.  Any of you in an Oklahoma Wal-Mart for longer than a half hour are going to start eventually shooting.

So this was apparently in the parking lot and the shooter turned the gun on themselves after being confronted by a civilian with a gun. I'd imagine there isn't much other than Walmart in Duncan, Oklahoma, and, well, it's Oklahoma.

Casino. The Chickasaw have a casino there. I have a friend with a CDIB for the Chickasaw but he took a look around at life in small town Oklahoma, got his degree and left. I imagine the only thing that would bring him to return would be family and he loved to fish.

I think it's a large hub for Halliburton as well - assuming that company still exists.

Add Oklahoma to the WalMart shooting list.

At least 3 killed in Duncan:

Duncan OK WalMart

My wife's co-worker knows the people. The shooter's wife was fucking his half-brother. I know that sounds like your standard Oklahoma joke but it's true. He killed them both and then himself. There's kids involved too, it's very sad.

it's not just oshkosh.

An armed student was shot by a school resource officer at a Wisconsin high school early Tuesday morning.

The shooting broke out around 9.12am at Oshkosh West High School and the Okshkosh Police Department announced the incident on Facebook about an hour later.

In the incident a student armed with a weapon confronted a school resource officer, leading the cop to fire at the pupil.

Both the student and the officer were hurt in the confrontation, police say, and transported to local hospitals. One trauma patient was transported to a trauma center in Neenah.

'The student and officer were both injured and transported to local hospitals. Only one student was injured,' the police department said.

The shooting comes one day after a similar incident in Waukesha, about 90 miles away from Oshkosh West High, on Monday.

In the Monday incident an officer shot a 17-year-old armed male student at Waukesha South High School.

During the chase’s violent finale on Miramar Parkway, a cluster of cars stopped in peak rush-hour traffic became shields for police. Officers ran and ducked around pedestrians, who witnessed over 100 rounds of gunfire that looked like small bursts of light and smoke in the daylight.

At the end, 20 officers descended on three men lying next to the UPS truck that had been hijacked by two armed robbery suspects in Coral Gables, where the driver of the truck was taken hostage.

“I said, ‘Honey, don’t worry about it because he’s in Coconut Grove,’” Merino told the Miami Herald. “He drives a 24-footer in Coconut Grove, and this is in Coral Gables and it’s a P-500, which is a small-size truck.”

Minutes later, the son called again. To his horror, he recognized his brother on the television screen, crawling out of the carjacked UPS truck before he died in the gunfight.

The five or six officers from the Miramar and Pembroke Pines police departments who opened fire are on administrative leave, per department policies, Broward County Police Benevolent Association President Rod Skirvin said Friday. Eleven Miami-Dade officers also opened fire and have been placed on leave. An officer from the Florida Highway Patrol fired shots, as well.

The FBI, which is leading the investigation into the incident, has offered little information about what happened, including whether Ordonez was killed by police bullets or exactly how Cutshaw was shot.

Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez on Friday defended his officers’ actions, saying they “tried the best they could and showed incredible courage” in the firefight — even though a hostage and bystander wound up dead in the crossfire.

“We as an agency mourn the loss of these two innocent victims,” Perez said. “We’re obviously sympathetic with the family members. It’s heart-breaking for us.”

Perez insisted that the suspected robbers, Alexander and Hill, were to blame because they opened fire on the officers.

I'd be curious to know who fired the shots that killed UPS driver and old guy.  Because in the middle of all of that shit, I doubt the robbers are thinking "oh shit, we gotta cap the UPS driver in case he identifies us!".

The brother thinks he knows:

my brother frank ordonez was killed by police officers  on 12/5/2019, when two robbers hijacked the USP truck he was driving.  They kidnapped my brother and took him on a high speed chase, when they came to a stop he was gun down like a criminal by the Florida police.

What are those two innocent citizens, collateral damage? It was just a stupid parcel truck filled with things and the criminals had a hostage, so why did they chase so closely?

I do not like this and if this is a trend, (be forewarned I’m going hyperbolic here) the next time there is a school shooting, what are they going to do, pop off a hundred rounds and then say, ‘oops’?

Oh they don't go anywhere near the school.  At Parkland the shooter was at McDonalds and kids shot in the school had bled to death before any of the cops moved in.

This is a quick timeline of the Parkland shooting.  It won them a Pulitzer.   Well worth your time if you really want to know what happened.

I think it should be required reading for parents.
