Grant Williams fouls out and gets hurt on a play where he didn't actually foul anybody. Really tough break for the Vols, they'll have to try and hold on without him.

KU hits both FTs, tied at 69 apiece.

Some weak loose ball fouls against Tennessee.

This and the loss of Williams have killed them down the stretch. It reminds me of some of our old games against KU with all the ticky tack crap away from the play.

I remember posting that I believe Bill Self to be the best regular season coach in America, and that stat they just give us is why: 17-4 vs top 10 teams at KU, and now 14 in a row. That is damn impressive. Self is the man.

Going to have to study the net rating. But with the AP, I’m still not impressed with UK. I guess the reason to put them at 10 is because there aren’t many teams you could say are better than them? They don’t seem to have “earned” a top 10 ranking in my mind.

The NET rating is a waste of time until there is a larger sample.

Yeah, really won't be of any value until February.

Yup need more games to be played.

They're just riding the blue blood pedigree right now. They have no defense and got boat raced out of the gym by the only good team they've played so far.

I'd struggle to place them in the top half of the Big 12 right now.

Can’t argue against any of this, probably should be in the 15-20 range at best.

Zion is like a modern, even stockier and more explosive hybrid of Charles Barkley and pre-injuries Larry Johnson.  If anything the NBA is even more hospitable to shorter, powerfully built front court players now than it was when they played.  I’d take Zion #1 in a heartbeat in this class.

Barrett, OTOH, needs Coach K to light him up and get his shot selection under control.  Since that Kentucky game it seems like his shooting line in every subsequent game has been something ugly like tonight’s 9-25.

I think Barkley was faster straight line but yes

Man.... down year for the American. SMU back to being mediocre, a few teams getting a vote a piece but UCONN ain't back yet. Memphis still down. Cincy down year.

Usually the best mid-major/G5 but might not be the case this year.

Even with a loss here I wouldn't want to play Michigan State in March.

They were down a starter tonight (McQuaid) to injury and Winston was in foul trouble most of the night. They still almost found a way to win this game.

Zion is so fun to watch.  Can't remember seeing a guy at 270lbs play the way he does.  He's got a solid 25 lbs on Lebron

Did you know he's the 4th best player on Duke?  I learned that on here.

Kentucky is ultimately going to figure it out and be pretty good, but I don’t think they’ve recovered from seeing their own blood against Duke. Doubt many players on that team have ever been out-talented...and they look like a team with very little confidence right now.
