Ha. Got the feeling Gerry and C.J. had a good understanding of the details behind this but they both explicitly distanced from wanting to frame it as a “dismissal”. Meanwhile, Ketch and Anwar on the other hand…

Oh well. Moore and Wingo are better. He probably acted like a bitch after getting benched. Goodbye and good luck.

Weird to shit on him when the only "proof" anything is off with the situation is Fat Ketch saying he was dismissed. He was just the 6th best receiver in the room and fucked up chances with drops. Doesn't mean he's an awful teammate or anything.

I'm no mind reader, but Cook's body language on the bench against Vandy suggested he wasn't fully engaged. The fact Moore had just scored another TD might have had a lot to do with the disinterest he appeared to be showing. Or not. Whatever was going on, I anticipated Cook hitting the portal at year's end.

IDGAF either way, guy. Adios, the show goes on.

Sick of being on this team and not getting PT.

He didn’t see much PT after he dropped that TD against MSST. With the depth Sark built at WR, you may not get a second or third chance like you would on another team.

Sad. When I saw he wasn’t progressing in his rating in NCAAF 25 and was getting passed up by other receivers I had a feeling something was wrong and hoped that it wouldn’t mean anything in reality. Hate to say I saw this coming.

So, uh, it's safe to say he's not in the circle anymore. I don't know shit from fuck, but I wonder if he threw a tantrum in the locker room after Vandy since he dropped that easy TD against Miss St and didn't get much playing time?

I really thought this kid was gonna ball out, but you can't drop balls (no pun) when they're thrown to you. Moore, Bond, Bolden, Wingo have shown the ability to actually catch.

Didn't someone say he had issues dropping passes in HS?? If this is the case, how was he a 5*, or top 50 player? Seems weird, but whatever.

I mean, we're 70% through the season in a playoff chase and a month from the transfer portal opening

If this was his decision, then he's quitting on the team in the middle of the season

If this was a coaching decision, then he was kicked out and they didn't want him around the team for the rest of the season.

Either way, the timing here doesn't point to very many options that would indicate "great teammate"

Pure speculation on my part.

The saying "one rotten apple spoils the whole barrel" is a metaphor that refers to how one person's negative behavior can affect a group of people. The phrase has a scientific basis, as a rotten apple produces ethylene gas, which can cause other apples to ripen and spoil faster.

It is remarkable how one disgruntled employee can greatly affect an entire group at a company. We had a bad apple and he poisoned our team. It was actually kind of amazing. Getting rid of him really helped us. Not saying this was Cook, of course, since I wasn’t there.

With how dramatic his recruitment was, he was always going to be boom or bust. That said, him failing to see the field was probably far less impactful than anyone could have guessed. It will be interesting to see where he lands.

Johntay got first team reps all spring and fall camp. He has no one to blame but himself.

This is thing people are not mentioning. He was 1st string in the spring. He went into August camp at 1st string. He didnt start in game 1, but logged starter reps. His reps went down every week. IF someone here has the snap counts by game it would be great if they posted them. I think the OTF guys said he got 11 snaps in SEC play and I believe they said 9 of them came in garbage time in the MSU game. The kid started out on 3rd base in the spring and ended up in the portal, that isnt on the coaches or because of 1 drop. God knows Worthy had plenty of drops. Blue has had plenty of drops. Sark tends to right back to guys after a drop.

Yeah, on a different podcast they also mentioned how Johntay was 1st string in spring and even 1st string at the beginning of Fall Camp as well.
