Hands fucking down his best performance, and I'll cut anyone who says otherwise.

His worst of the films I've seen is Armed and Dangerous.  But I didn't see any of the movies during the last few years before his death (e.g., Cool Runnings, Wagons East, Canadian Bacon).

That's a goddammit classic you rat bastard.  And I haven't seen that since I was in 2nd grade or something, so I'm 100% positive it's held up all this time.

Best- Laker series

Worst- not sure, but still laughed- unless you count Gangs of NY. He still was good in that role.

I really enjoyed his role in the Laker series but I know a lot of people hated the whole production because they made the organization a caricature of itself, especially his role.

Liked him in Boogie Nights, a few of his roles with Ferrell.

Ackroyd was very good in Driving Miss Daisy.

Ed Harris?  Much like Duvall, another solid/great actor.

Jerry Lewis

Worst: everything he did

Best: nothing

Loved the Martin/Lewis films growing up and still do to some extent, even some of his post Martin work I liked but I’d have a hard time sitting through most now and he thought this was funny...

Ed Harris is good in everything.  Great in Empire falls.

I know Nic Cage is a (well deserved) punching bag here, but he was great in Raising Arizona.

Tim Curry

Best - Frank N. Furter in Rocky Horror Picture Show or Professor Snape in the Harry Potter movies

Worst - Titanic, the 1996 non-James Cameron one, with George C. Scott

Spoiler

I know it was Tim Roth as Snape, just trying to trigger the HP fanboys

Spoiler

Okay Alan Rickman

Val Kilmer
Best - Real Genius, Tombstone

BTW, did you know there was a Wyatt Earp's revenge?  Anyone seen it?

I thought he did pretty good as Jim Morrison

I like your pick a lot, but am tempted to put Cast Away at the top.

I don't know if it was his best, my favorite role of Hanks' is in Road to Perdition.

I don't know that I've seen that one. I may need to rectify that.

He's played so many great roles over the years.

I still have a soft spot for Splash. And wasn't John Candy great?

I'm of the belief that Candy is great in everything but he often played the same dude, or himself.  But Stripes, Uncle Buck, Great Outdoors,Splash, etc are all hilarious and he's great in them.  But he was the best in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

Tom Hanks is great too but that movie where he's the boat captain wasn't so hot.

Dan Akroyd:

Best- Great Outdoors, only movie I’ve ever found him funny in. He was good in Trading Places for sure but he didn’t carry the load like Great Outdoors.

You don't think he is funny in Blues Brothers?

I definitely enjoyed AHX.  It’s easily a better overall movie.
I thought and still think he did an incredible job in Primal Fear.

No love for Death to Smoochy?

John Candy was his very best on SCTV. Johnny LaRue, Grogan, Harry the Guy with a Snake on His Face, Dr Tongue, Gil Fisher, Pavarotti, the list is endless.

I don't know that he was bad in Reign of Fire, I just think it's another case of the movie being poorly received, and his performance suffered from that perception.

Robert Duvall

Best: All of them

Worst: None of them

If you haven't seen it, Rambling Rose is vintage Duvall at his finest. And some nice Laura Dern vignettes to boot.  Also, use of the term "Epizootics" to describe any debilitating illness.  See also @ 3:09 below: "Girl strikes like a cobra!"

I’d write some more but I’m coming down with a case of Lactose Reflux

I prefer Out of Sight. Even J Lo is good in it.
