besides the snack bar at the casino, only place i have eaten at is Super Tacos Morales. i eat tacos at so many places in south Texas i don't exactly recall how good they are, but I do remember them as being good. their mollejas tacos i did have to go up and order some after having a bite of my GF's. they were excellent.

the menudo at the casino snack bar is great late night eating.

Have family who have owned a pecan orchard in Eagle Pass for over 100 years. Been down there several dozen times (not in 10+ years) — and I got nothin’. I’d tell you to go across to Piedras Negras but it’s not safe over there anymore.

EP and Piedras is my family's home turf (dad was an all-district lineman on their district champion team in '54).  But I haven't been down there in 20 years.  And all of the legendary places are gone.

The Charcoal, an institution for great burgers?  Gone.

El Moderno in Piedras (birthplace of the nacho)?  Gone.

I got nothin'.  I imagine there are some decent taquerias around, there always were back in the day.

Doesn't seem like many people have reason to be there. I'd probably just go with whatever has the best reviews, especially if the reviewers are from out of town and not the locals who'd review a Chilis.

I cross there every few months, coming back from Mexico, and the burritos at the Minit Mart (Flying J) on Main/57 are on par with Allsups. All i got.

Folks still live there and was down there a few weeks ago.  They go to Loma Bonita Restaurant every morning for breakfast and two hour long coffee chat with their friends. They do lunch as well.

Yopos is a good mexican restaurant it's on Main. Tacos Morales is always a solid choice as well.  if you're there late night on Saturday swing by Piedras Negras Tortilla Factory for some fresh barbacoa and tortillas.

That's all I got.

She has a cart.  That's too fancy.  It needs to be a cooler toted around in a shitty red wagon.

Also, back when the Skillets was the Kettle, they had an off-menu item (probably not sanctioned by Kettle HQ) -- menudo, and it was one of the best restaurant menudos I've ever had.  Don't think they do it anymore.  Because this world is going all to hell.

The cart belonged to the elotes lady. The lady that was selling the worst tamales that I’ve ever had in my life had a cooler and a chair. This was 2004 in front of Fuel City.
