New CFP Rankings      Nov 8th

Too high:

LSU

Ole Miss - Tulane has about the same resume and would be favored

UNC - I guess they are a 1-loss P5 team , but they aren't good and haven't really faced a P5 schedule

NC State - More deserving than UNC, but still...

Illinois - should not be ranked, I'm surprised they didn't fall out after 2nd loss

Kentucky - biggest headscratcher on here

Too low:

Penn State

Texas

Kansas St

Should be ranked: Louisville, Kansas

So we have UGA and winner of UM/ohio state as virtual locks to make it in.  Two spots left.  TCU in if they win out, Oregon in if they win out.  Both happening seems highly unlikely.  Door is open for a 2 loss LSU if they manage to win the SEC.

Loser Of the Michigan OSU game will go imo, unless the game is just an Ass whipping.

Over Tennessee?

Not if Tennessee wins out. My guess is 2 SEC and 2 big 10 if they can all get there 0,1,0,1 losses.
that’s assuming of course TCU doesn’t win out and that the PAC 12 champ ends up with 2 losses which looks likely right now. Who else would you put in?

I'm not a fan of putting teams in that haven't at least played for their conference title.

I do think that one of Tenn or Mich (or tOSU were they to lose to Mich) is a top 4 team, however.  And certainly better than anyone coming out of the PAC.

Pedo's best win is a 13 point loss at home to OSU.  They will go 10-2 without beating a ranked team.

As expected we fell out of the CFP top 25. Maybe next year we can break the glass ceiling of 14th and average ranking of 17.85 in 13 appearances. Meanwhile TCU's average ranking in 22 all-time appearances is 8.95.

I'm really enjoying this season overall for a variety of reasons:

1. Texas is much improved, really could be 11-1, but 8-4 is a vast improvement.  Savor the positive for a moment.

2. Alabama isn't a gimme to win a title, in fact they are out of the playoffs.  This is probably the #1 reason for the improved year, makes the season worth a damn finally after so much dominance at the top.

3. Some geographic balance with USC on the rise.  Did not know Caleb QB is only a Soph, they'll be favored next year if Riley can get some quality D portal guys.  Lots of players will want to transfer to USC now.

4. Super QB play this year: USC Caleb, TCU Duggan, tOSU Stroud, Bama Young  and more.

I really like the changing landscape thanks to NIL and transfers.  Makes for more a competitive balance.  Sport was getting very stagnant lately.

24 in the AP as well. Highest ranked 4 loss team. Can’t conceive of any reason that wouldn’t be the case.

i mean we've literally come out like every game and clearly looked like we were gonna beat the shit out of whoever we were playing.

it's just that unfortunately in half those games we forgot to play the second half 😒

The whole debate infuriates me. Watching people argue if a one loss or two loss blah blah…like say for an example the Miss TEXAS Pageant.

In this hypothetical The girl who wins Miss TEXAS is from the Panhandle but the runner up is from Houston and the talking heads are like, “They’re both really pretty girls but Houston is a more populated area than the Panhandle so that girl should get to represent TEXAS instead even though she’s the runner up.” So dumb. Can’t wait for the CFP expansion shit. Win your conference you’re in. You don’t win your conference you aren’t in the CFP and you go to the best tier bowls remaining. If there are any outstanding bowls to stick teams in, then it’s third best record in your conference.

TCU just needs to win out. Which is all Gundy needed to fucking do last year.

LSU plays the traditional SEC week 12 cupcake (UAB), their Tennessee Quality Loss tm gets murdered by unranked South Carolina, their Ole Miss Quality Win tm gets blown out by unranked Arkansas and they move up a spot to 5th.  I'm sure the committee is itching to put LSU in the top 4 to replace the loser of Ohio State/Michigan after they get a hard fought SECSECSEC road win over 4-8 A&M this weekend.

How the fuck is 2 loss LSU ahead of one loss USC????

Does it matter really? I mean if LSU wins the SEC, they’ll get in no matter where they are now.

If they lose in the sEC championship they won’t make it.

It’ll work itself out.

Calling my shot:

Georgia

Mich / Ohio State winner

Clemson

Mich / Ohio State loser

Chaos will reign as USC drops one of their last 2 games, TCU is losing in the Big12 championship, And Clemson beats UNC in the ACC championship.

Best guesses if UGA, TCU, USC and Clemson all lose?  Oh and fOSU/UM is a complete blowout either way.   They probably don’t put in the loser who gets thrashed, but they also don’t put in 3 SEC teams, right?

That’s ESPN/tshirt CFB fan’s wet dream. But why stop at 3 SECX3 teams?
