Ok I'm watching with attention slightly diverted by kids, baseball games on other TVs, vodka, etc. I just want to make sure I'm following this straight.

Spoiler

Goodwin was one of the Others. Got it. I'm pretty sure Nathan was, too, right? When Any Lucia and Goodwin had their confrontation he said he had to kill Nathan because he thought that when she tortured him and he didn't reveal anything she would start to suspect others. I'm not sure if that means he was or wasn't. On second thought I think it means he wasn't but it's not entirely clear. Maybe I missed something.

Can you get me on a porn bus dude? I've been married for like 15 years

Sigh. I'm kidding. I want no part of that.

Haven't go to it yet, but yeah, Through the Looking Glass was peak LOST. I always thought that name was interesting at the time, since it is an Alice in Wonderland reference. It  lead to some great speculation on the nature of the island and the situation of the survivors. Who is Alice in the context? Is this simply a Wonderland experience? Is it all a dream? etc etc...

Don't want to get into it now, since it's kind of spoilery talk with the context of all 6 seasons, but at the time I recall it being a lot of fun discussion to kick around.

the first time i watched this show, the run from the end of season 3, through The Constant (s4e5) was the most enthralling run of tv episodes i've ever watched. maybe peak breaking bad was up there, but i was watching that live and having to wait a week between episodes. getting to binge from "through the looking glass" through "the constant" all in one or two days was enthralling.

i'm on season 4, episode 13 now.

definitely not as into it as i was for the first three seasons, but it's still pretty damn good. all of the time jumping and the different storylines and new characters are going to take a toll on the viewer's interest, but it's still a good show, even if it's a bit slower now. i thought no the show probably peaked during the aforementioned run between through the looking glass and the constant, but even if so it's been one helluva ride.

also, i'm wondering what the reaction was like when they killed Alex when this show first aired. i bet most people did not see that coming.

there was a period after "the constant" where i wasn't as high on the show; all of the stuff happening back in america was a lot less interesting with all of the time jumping and lack of context. and one too many, "of this doesn't happen then everyone will DIE" moments, but the show has picked back up. the storylines on the island are still interesting, and now everyone has returned to the island anyway. i still don't remember what happens after this, so bully for me.

dude, say what you want about lost, but this show produced more badass characters who were introduced well after the pilot than just about any show i've watched that isn't some epic saga like GoT. Parks and Rec is up there, Always Sunny, Breaking Bad; there are others, but this show gives us Juliet, Faraday, Miles, Desmond, Eko, and most of all Benjamin Linus. Awesome job of adding characters as time went on.

To quote that hood rat chick from the MARTA, Kate need to apologize to everybody for her shit, hoe. She and Jack are two peas in a pod. They just do whatever they want whenever they want, regardless of what's best for anyone else, and then they never seem to realize how much they're boning everyone else.

halfway through season 6 now and

yeah, this show has jumped the shark. it's all over the place. i dunno who's decision it was to never stop introducing new characters and then to keep exploring those characters and their past, but that was stupid. we just had an entire episode about richard just to show that he's been here a long time and that he can't die, two things we already knew. an entire episode. wtf. and i can't keep up with the dozens of timelines. miles and sawyer are cops now? how? and this all somehow happened before the oceanic flight? wha?? and now all of a sudden the entire show is about jacob and his rival? i dunno wtf they were thinking with this season, but the show should have ended with faraday somehow making the crash never occur after all, but with the main cast all still having some sort of faint recollection of what happened. there's your storybook ending. all of this temple, and jacob, and japanese guy stuff...it's all too much.

I always found Richard to be one of the most interesting characters on the show and that was one of  my favorite episodes that season.

I agree that a lot of the on-island S6 stuff in particular felt like a misstep, but I enjoyed the alternate timeline arc.

dude. what the hell bro. they just had this huge episode with everyone escaping, and the og crew ditching locke and getting to the sub; fuckin jin and sun died! that episode ends, i can't wait to see what's next, i immediately fire up the next episode...and the entire fucking thing is jacob and his brother's origin story. there's four episodes left in the entire series, they give us a great episode where a lot of things are finally going to be connected and get fleshed out, and they backdoor it with 43 minutes of introducing new characters and giving us jacob's backstory. what. the. fuck.

have you not watched this all the way thru before?  i haven't seen s5/s6 since it originally aired.  imagine waiting a week in between episodes and having the next episode go exactly like you wanted it to.  it was torture.

ive watched it all the way through once, but i barely remembered any of it, particularly seasons 5 and 6.

yeah, this ending is pretty stupid, and the last two seasons are just all over the map. i can think of a dozen ways they could have gone that would have been better/more sensible than this convoluted, circuitous route they took. still was a great show overall. i'd probably liken it to the Community of tv dramas. it fell way off after a while, but the first 3-4'seasons are outstanding. i definitely enjoyed going through it again.

Man, I bet that uncut version resolves ALL of the loose ends!

Ok I'm on to S3:E1. I know, I'm slow.

This is turning sucky. Maybe it's just this episode. I don't need for everything to be "realistic" (I like Batman). But come on, these psycho mangy dickheads have elaborate separate psychological torture mechanisms set up to torment their prisoners individually? Pshaw Gilby.

I'm on S4:E1. Mobile so no spoiler tag.

Season 3 redeemed itself though I still think those torture episodes were stupid.

I can see they're starting to run out of ideas now though and trying to figure out how they end it. I could be completely wrong but my take. I think the whole back and forth with the others got a little stupid. At some point each group basically knows everything about the other one and that they co-exist, and the only real conflict seems to be one doesn't want to be discovered by the outside world, but that theme is kind of an afterthought. Yet they keep going to war and killing each other. And no one likes Ben. Or Jack for that matter. But they still follow them.

I don't know, I'm rambling.

Someone might have done it earlier in this thread but I feel the need to give my own.

LOST Ladies Hotness rank. I'm not sure if it's the jt or Randy method.

1. Nikki. Oh man. Have a big time thing for Nikki.

2. Kate. Very hot but not quite Nikki Hot.

3. Shannon. Dead but hot. Shannon is beautiful but my hangup with her is seeing her in Taken and she was an awkward teen and I have a hard time going from that to bang city.

4. Claire. Claire is really cute/pretty.

5. Sun. Not my cup of tea, but the more I watch the cuter she is

6. Juliet. Nice boobies. Kind of old looking.
